Especially compared to a denon ah d5200? Who’s the winner ?
IMO the D5200 is miles ahead - but also much more expensive.

Here in Hungary the D5200 is triple priced compared to the HP50.

How easy are those to install?Hi.
Any pads for Sony 7506 should fit. Bought some by Krone Kalpasmos. Comfier than the originals.
Quite easy! How easy are those to install?
Nope. You just stretch them a bit and slide around the brim. How do I install those pads? Do I need to stick it with a glue or?
Ok. I'll order those Sony pads.Nope. You just stretch them a bit and slide around the brim.
Denon D5200 is a good upgrade IMHO. Slightly more bass, but very coherent, refined, musical sound. Punchy low-end from a decent source.Just out curiosity. Did you guys moved from HP50? What did you buy?
Would you say that Denon 5200 is warm, neutral, bright? I find NAD neutral, slightly warm. Engaging but not fatiguing. I like them because of that.Denon D5200 is a good upgrade IMHO. Slightly more bass, but very coherent, refined, musical sound. Punchy low-end from a decent source.
If you do not want more bass then a used Denon D2000 is also a good buy. Close to the sound character of the HP50, but better comfort, bigger soundstage. (Home use only.)
Both are closed cans.
I tried HiFiMan Ananda (open) and Focal Elegia (closed) this summer. They were not really my cup of tea.
D5200 is also a slightly warm character with a very pleasant, elevated bass. Not basshead levels like Sony Z7 or Meze 99 Classics (I had those), but a decent, fat, punchy low-end.Would you say that Denon 5200 is warm, neutral, bright? I find NAD neutral, slightly warm. No, these are not the original pads made by NAD. FWIW, I was never able to find replacement pads that replicated the sound of the original pads (including the replacement pads currently being sold by NAD). See various discussions upthread.Hi guys,
