MYSPHERE 3.1 "FAQ's"

I own the MS 3.1 with stock cable... Interested if anyone has any experience with aftermarket cables and rolling the frames to bass or transparent?

What cables would you recommend? With the frames I listen mostly fully extended so not sure if the bass would add that much impact but perhaps the transparent frames would be worth trying?

Fully opened from the ear, the A-1 cushions deliver +2dB from 8kHz upwards.
The stock cables are designed and balanced to two priorities. First sound, second low mass and reliability.
Other cables could be interested if one of the two parameters shall get higher priority.

Bass frames make a big difference for upper Bass frequencies, they can actually be a bit much on some amps for my tastes.
I use the Lavricable Grand for the Mysphere, I found it a win over stock both in ergonomics where the longer stock cable really sucks and in adding a little bit of clarity and openness.
Mine is dual terminated, you can get either single or dual termination, if you get dual termination, ask him to make the split 6 inches longer, it improves usability significantly.
I wish Heinz would sell those cute 45 degree angled connectors separately though ;)

I'd add the Merging Anubis to the list of compatible Headphone amps/DAC/preamps for the Mysphere 3.2, Heinz.

After 7 years of production the MYSPHERE 3 it was decided to stop it now at company LB-acoustics in Vienna.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all loyal, enthusiastic customers who want to enjoy completely open headphones or ear speakers for their loyalty and trust. It was always a pleasure to communicate with you and exchange opinions.

but there always comes a time to try something new.

Of course, full service for MYSPHERE 3 remains. This means that all spare parts are still available to buy, if repairs are necessary, these are carried out professionally and, of course, warranty cases are handled to your complete satisfaction.

Individual, completely new headphones can also be made.

While I dont have experience with the mysphere 3, I love the engineering that has gone into it with driver technology and the look. All the best on your future projects! Hope to see more from your work.

Well, if you feel the energy and drive to create and live, certainly you are not too old. :relaxed: Good luck with your new endeavors whether or not they are related to headphones/earspeakers.

Yes, the Mysphere is an incredible achievement by Mr. Renner. To create world-class headphones (or earspeakers, to be more correct) from scratch with no support from some big company already being comfortably retired is something very few people can do.
I remember reading that first post in 2012 where Heinz just started to consider making a new pair of earspeakers - https://www.head-fi.org/threads/history-of-the-akg-k1000.57805/page-9#post-8874662
Hello to All and especially to Analogsurviver,

Of course it's very attractive for an old headphone designer like me to create a K2K based on latest technology.

On the other hand, I pesonally hate to much risk.
Risk for me are not so much in commercial terms, because I really know how to manage proper those approach.
The main risk would be to get the right acoustic setup for most of you audiophil people, so that you would be finally really satisfied and really willing to buy such a product for a premium.
The idea of paying a kind of deposit for all interested one which would be payed back of course, sound basically a quite simple model for the development investment. But how to judge the final product and not at least to fix the target ...?
F.I. and as you know, those effects like spatial (three dimensionality) listening are still not measurable... Also human has different audiophil tast (f.i. In the U. States, England and Germany those tastes are really quite different)....

To build different K2K versions would be of course also possible, but again how to judge which one should be finally build...?

Any idea of you great formum?

BR heinz
And lo and behold, Mr Renner didn't just think about it, but actually did it and in record time. Incredible

Heinz, thanks a lot for this incredible opportunity to listen to such extraordinary earspeakers you have given to all of us.
