Hello,
My Headroom Ultra Micro is not powering up anymore… the power switch died…

I am looking at a new BURSON HA-160 to drive my ALO K702.

I have read reports of the excellent synergy between the AKG and the BURSON.

Before, I pull the trigger, may I ask:

How reliable is the BURSON?

Any quality or manufacturing issues faced?

And what is the ‘ground loop’ issue reported by the 6 moons review?

I heard that the issue has been fixed of late….

Please help!

I don't think it's a headphone specific problem, just that some people want to fine tune their volume between the steps.

Your sig says "K701 waiting for a good home amp" does the 160 not mate well with them?

Well all the amps I've listed is just stuff I've auditioned or planning to audition and are still being considered for my home amp. I did try the HA160 with the K701 at a good shop (Audio Physics HK), but it was only for a few minutes. The combo sounded pretty good actually, I did most of it with the acapella "Stuck in a Moment" on the Chetsky album burned to CD. I'm actually not a huge K701 fan, I got mine they first came out and were super-FOTM, they're not really my style...

If the ground loop issue has been fixed, then I suppose it would be just as reliable as anything else....

apart from the power switch and the volume, there are no moving parts.

This is all speculation though.
