What I did:
 
- made aluminum covers instead of keeping the grills
- shortened/sleeved original grado cable
- reterminated with a mini
- nose's grado post mod (http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/266965/nose-s-grado-post-mod-w-shaft-collar-and-rubber-o-ring)

I thought I would share my recent mod on my 325i cans.

Updated first post. Impacts on SQ? I have no idea. This was mostly an asethetic mod and any SQ differences would be just accidental. Personally, I noticed no SQ change.

Umm yup. Painted white since I like white. I would have powdercoated but thats almost $90.

Edit : Oh and.. sorry, personally I do think that aluminium cups are one of the best looking cups around, superior to most woodies being made...
