I'm thinking about purchasing some Denon AH D1100's for £97, and to accompany them I have seen a FiiO E5 amp for £13 and a FiiO L3 Line out dock cable for my ipod, is this a good combo and are the extras a good idea ?

The FiiO E5 will distort the sound for the Denon.
 
Either get the Fiio E7 with L3 or not at all.

The denon has more bass.
 
If you want more portable and more portable and more highs, go MS400
 
other wise, the D1100 makes a good bassy portable
