True. However, it is available in hi-rez in its DVD-Audio version, and that's wonderful. Haven't heard/compared it to the Mo-Fi Redbook though.

It's great that it's in DVD Audio. I've only heard Carnival (& that only the album version of the song from the iTunes store). But if the sound is anything like the sound on the Hotel California DVD Audio, it should be fantastic.

exactly, I've known this album for years, but just recently heard it for the first time! this SACD really gives more detail, more midrange, space, air around the instruments, everything is more musical and more real...

a must have

I just got a copy of Depeche Mode's Violator on SACD/DVD. I can't wait to get home and pop it in the player. This album has a special place in my heart and I am sure it will be phenomenal on SACD. I got it on amazon.co.uk delivered to the us for $28.31 which is pretty good considering it goes for $37.99 on amazon.com. Also, the great thing is that it only took less than a week to get here (and I signed in with my amazon.com information so it knew all my information as if I was buying from the amazon.com)! I will have to check out amazon.co.uk more often for imports.

Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral Deluxe Edition

It sounds awesome on these Denons that you talked me into.

As for the Denons, I don't think I had to twist your arm very much!

I just ordered the NIN, thanks for the suggesting Orcin. I am now up to 12 SACDs (some of which are not so cheap). I thought I was getting a good deal on the SA8001 but if I keep (re)buying albums I already own on CD, I am not so sure I got a good deal.
