This is one amp that I'm really interested in for my HD650's.  Could you describe the sound in a few words?  Is it bright, dark?  How are the details and soundstage? 
I really need some amp that is highly detailed and forward sounding for HD650's.

Well, I recall this sounding somewhat similar to X-Can V8P, and that one I shortly listened to with HD650. The sound was very dark and muddy, was totally new record to me though, might have been just that. Based on that it's hard to recommend anything Musical Fidelity to go with HD650, many will disagree though it was probably a crappy record. And no, I have not listened to HD650 with M1HPA.
 
About the sound, I think it's really detailed and soundstage is good too. Tight bass that goes low, nice mids and clear highs that do not cause fatigue. This all applies to use with my ATH-W1000X, which I think is brighter than HD650.
