A curious query for Dan: what do you imagine turnaround time to be after delivery for the upgrades?  Is it an as-they-come effort, or are you waiting to gather a batch first?
We try to keep it under 2 weeks....

It's been strange them burning in. Now they are settling back in around 140+ hours they sound more like the old Ethers... a touch less sub Bass but the treble is zingy and more defined.... Lovely without any harshness.
From memory the stage is not that wider but more cube like making it feel like it's in a big square room with high notes drifting away in the distance. Holographic-esque.

The Ether Flows jumping out at the end saying..haha it was me all along.. but better...
Terrible analogies but a thumbs up from me..
Thanks Mr C. Better sound makes you into an audiophile schizophrenic..
Hearing thing that weren't there before..
Cheers all

Dave

That is correct. I've abandoned my desktop rig in pursuit of transportable.
Ak380+amp module or hugo 2 are my two considerations.

Smartphones sound so shrill and fatiguing, its really is dissapointing knowing how much more the headphones are capable of.

I was thinking of going fully portable too but don't think a straight pory8 player would cut it. I was hoping it would, but I heard an onkyo for 500 and ak player for 2500 bucks and neither was great on their own. Didn't sound as good as my 1200 dollar desktop setup. I was thinking a quality portable Amp might get good but they're so pricey sometimes.

I've heard it's a good player but never listened to one. I remember hearing the calyx m player and liked it because it almost had a tube type sound but hated the interface.

I thought it was good too and the ak wasnt that much better. But I like the tube sound right now so neither one sounded as good as my rig. I was hoping it could replace a desktop right, but I dig tubes.
