MrSpeakers Electrostatic Prototype Listening Impressions

i really like that you made it lightweight.. i kept my koss ESP-950 electrostats because oh my god the comfort of these is just incredible.. the only bad part is their included amp.

also i was wondering.. did you try or test angled drivers for better soundstage/imaging??

also why don't you create your own woo wee type of transformer but with high end transformers like cinemag, lundhal etc.. ? you could sell it mostly cost if they buy the voce with it or 700$ alone

i'm not sure the woo wee or ican iesl have a true high transformer

How's iESL + Voce paring?

iFi made their own custom transformer for the iESL. I really liked the iESL with my Carver rack amp, but like other energisers, your mileage may vary. The Carver/iESL greatly improved the imaging with my SR-207, so I'd imagine it to be a good pairing with the VOCE with white filters installed (Carver amps tend to be a bit bright).

I wish someone had told me about the filters when I listened to the Voce at CanJam in NY. I don't know which ones where installed.

We had them on the tables, but noted...

Dan have you got a day for UK shipping? Looking forward to hear your Voce headphones.Thanks.

Within two weeks.

Resources don't allow that, we work one step at a time.

I'm pretty sure they were not on the table by the BHSE. I'll have to find another chance to hear the Voce and see if I like it better with different pads than whatever I heard. I was ready to buy at CanJam NY if I really liked it, and I don't know when I'll get another chance to hear it. So I'm a bit bummed, to be honest. These things happen, of course.

Received the VOCE yesterday. Will post some impression and pictures soon. Ask me questions if you are interested in something specific.
I'm curious to know your thoughts of it versus the 007 MKI. The 007 MKI paired with a Liquid Lightning is still my favorite headphone rig ever, but I do like the VOCE.

I do need to do a lot of comparisons. I have posted something 009 vs 007MK1 a few weeks before. This time, I will try to compare 009 vs VOCE and 007MK1 vs VOCE. To be honest, I had a lot of fun.

Being that Dan uses an LL my bet is the VOCE sounds awesome on it.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the Voce, good to see them getting into consumers hands.

@mrspeakers given all the issues with the box.. any chance we will see the Voce offered with that nice travel case listed on your webpage?

It's been mentioned several times as a hold up. Most recently in post #688 in this thread.

Yes getting new products ready for market is a process. Getting it right is important to both you and the maker. In Dan’s case, I’m ok with it coming a little slower because it always finds its way to an improvement or added value. Build quality and sound quality always appear paramount with MrSpeakers products. :)

No.

We are offering the early purchasers shipment without the box and to ship the box in about 2+ weeks. Those communications are going out today, as we have headphones ready to go.

Man, If I wasn't going on a trip for work I might have taken you up on the no box offer. But it works out to wait a little bit longer...nice that you offered it up though. :beerchug: That beer is WAY too small. Ah well i'm more of a hard liquor man anyway.
