Because not every one can afford BHSE, let alone KG T2. I do t worry about dynamic punch from Stax vs Utopia, I worry about my ears drums being punched too hard that deafness will occur faster.

Nothing wrong with a t2 for sure. I am enjoying my BHSE. I bought it used long before we became a dealer for HeadAmp products to use with my 009’s.

Thank you for confirming the 009 treble signatures. I have long found that if the 009 ever posed a treble annoyance, brightness, sibilant, or lack of bass, it is your energizer that is not fully capable of driving it. So again, BHSE should be considered as an endgame. However, the fact that 007 has a more musical and different signature is for sure. Stax has been the only one in this game until now. Thank you to @mrspeakers for the new product Voce, and Hifiman for the Shangrila Jr. This makes the market a better place with more competitions, and that is always a good thing for the consumersI have a bhse as well. I don't have the treble energy issues some people have with the 009, but I prefer the 007. I will continue to watch this thread closely but the voce seems to be close to the 007mk2.9 so not enough of a different tonality to get me to drop the change. Gratuitous tube glow pic included

Well, yes and no. The SR007 MkII has a street price of $1800-2100, the SR009 around $3300-$3800. The VOCE runs $3000, the Shangri-La Jr. lists at $6000, so while the VOCE is competitive price-wise with the SR009, the SR007 is only 2/3rds the price, and the Shangri-La Jr is double the price of the VOCE, and three times the price of the SR007, so not a lot of price competition.
This morning I just did my normal routine of listening to new releases that came out Friday, so I can't really compare impressions with the new music. But everything has been enjoyable on the Voce. The first night I did go through most of my Headphone Testing playlist. Here's a Spotify version (I listen via FLAC files on MediaMonkey), and a pic.
