MOONDROP MIAD01 5G Smartphone Stock Available!

I wish samsung would sto being a dick and just slap a microsd slot again, why must we have 2 slots for dumb sims and not a decent card reader? Why must they shill cloud storage? (moot point they love to look at our data with impunity and love making a buck while doing it)
Guess they make way more money out of us by selling on-board memory version of their handsets rather than being decent and adding a micro SD slot (that telcos do may not want as they want us to store stuff on cloud and boost data traffic charges like no tomorrow) to the two dumb, but much needed, sims slots

My carrier (Cricket) uses AT&T's network, and installing the Sim card from my old phone does allow the phone to connect to and be recognized by the network, so it is not a network band problem, but I still get a message that the device is not compatible. Very disappointing. I've emailed hifigo. We shall see. Caveat emptor.
I'm sorry you're having problems. I'm on T-Mobile and it's working fine. Another user said they were using AT&T in this post. I was helping him to troubleshoot a GPS problem at the time. Read a couple of the post exchanges between myself and that user, they never complained about AT&T cellular service not working at all. That user's post is what I based my information on.

Out of curiosity, I just now searched for and found AT&T's IMEI compatibility checker and the MIAD01 was not compatible. I think Cricket may also have an IMEI compatibility checker as well.

I will edit my previous post and remove AT&T as a compatible cellular service.

Like my Sony Xperia that has Gb512 of onboard memory (not huge but enough to store a reasonable choice of audio files) or my Samsung Ultra that has 1Tb of onboard memory (better than Sony memory-wise)...
Yeah that's why I had to buy the 23 Ultra 1tb direct from Samsung for the global unlocked version. The US carriers only offer 512 gb versions

Here it was the case for my Sony as here the distributor sells everything Sony's but not the handsets.
Had to get it from a shop in Singapore. ... there is always a complication somewhere ..

This would have been more helpful before my purchase than after, but it's my own fault for trusting a rando online. Should have done my own due diligence. Anyone want to buy one unused?

Hi!

I have a question regarding the MIAD01, let me explain you.
I am a person who does not have any special love for mobile phones. I usually keep the one I've had for several years until it breaks or can't use any more.
I have no interest in taking nice photos or videos, watching movies on it, playing games, or performing complicated operations.
The only things I use it for are making a few calls, chatting on WhatsApp or WeChat, and using some shopping apps (like Taobao or Amazon).

I say this because, although the MIAD01 may not be the best mobile phone in the world, I find it interesting due to the audio features and connections it includes.
And since my old Oppo is already very damaged and I'm considering buying a new phone, I was thinking that perhaps the MIAD01 would be an interesting option for me.
Based on what I've explained and my humble requirements, do you think it could be an interesting option?

Thanks and best regards!

I am in the same boat as you. I don't play game or watch movies on the phone. I am still using Oneplus 6T. I enjoy music when exercising so this is perfect for me. All in 1 device. I ordered 1 from shenzhenaudio but then canceled it because people posted and said it doesn't work with AT&T which I am on.

I think the MIAD01 might be a great option in that case, but you certainly have to double check if your carrier is supported. (Most are but not all)

Even if it's supported, the MIAD has a few minor issues. At least mine has.

After a while it doesn't manage to connect to my home wifi anymore. A restart of the device fixes it, but it's occuring several times a week. This can get annoying.

Some features like the "always on display" for the clock just don't work, I can't get the display to stay on

Apart from that it should be great for your use case. Other might be interested in the camera being bad. It's not so much that the pictures are bad, but especially in darker environments it really struggles to focus on anything and just stays blurry for an eternity.

GPS works great( there have been issues on release, but these seem to be completely fixed)

Sound is really good! I love the two special features VDSF+ and Amp tube. Always using those. The phone powers most stuff really well from my low Impedance Elite to my high Impedance ZMFs. As DAP the MIAD01 is quite nice, especially if you consider the pricing
