I’m not sure why but the Dusk seems to be more tip sensitive than my other iem’s. Switching to a narrow bore really reduces the upper treble.

When I was switching with Mirai at the same time it wasn’t as noticeable/drastic as dusk. I wonder if it’s because of the mirai’s long nozzle?

I'd hazard a guess that it also has to do with your physical sensitivity to, and psychological awareness of, the frequencies that are changed by the tips. If you have a shouty set and you notice shout quickly, than you'll recognize the change immediately with different tips.

I had the variations for a couple a months then sold them, I currently own the dusk.

The Dusk sounds more refined to me. I found the variations shouty in the upper mids. I also find the imaging on the Dusk is better and the stage is wider.

The Dusk has less midbass than the variations though, and the bass tuck is less aggressive. The Dusk is more subbass focused.

However the variations had better more natural sounding treble extension, due to those well implemented EST’s.

Obviously this is just my opinion based on my perceptions and preferences and YMMV.

I don’t think so?

The variations from memory had noticeably more midbass with a more aggressive bass tuck. Whereas the dusk is leaner on the midbass but still has good subbass extension - therefore is more subbass focused and it sounds that way (to me).

I'd like to ask a bit about the Blessing 3 for those that have access to more IEMs than I do.
I planned to get the B3 when it released as even though I do enjoy my harman-ish tuning, I also enjoy a neutral-bright set quite a lot; but like many, I decided to wait for the new Dusk to come and then make my decision.

Apparently both are good. I have even EQ'd the May to the (new) Dusk with the profile shard by SuperReview and I did like what I heard, a lot.
The thing is I already have a Free DSP cable so I though, if the Blessing 3 is still quite good, wouldn't it be better to just get it, since it is neutral-bright as I wanted (as a sidegrade) and if I feel like I would want to listen to the Dusk, I would just use the Free DSP cable.
On top of all that, there is a sale about to happen and I would get the Blessing 3 for a much better prince than the Dusk.

TL;DR: How do you feel about the Blessing 3 currently?
How does it stack to the competition? What genres do you think it does best?

If we're talking strictly about tuning (so not potential tiny (?) differences in technicalities, and fit, and accessories, etc.), then your logic is sound IMO. Unless you'd like to have the analog Dusk tuning through an analog cable, and/or the Blessing 3 takes to DSP/EQ badly, then there's no point in getting the Dusk, since that can't do bright neutral for you via an analog connection.

No, this one is most likely the cheaper CDSP: $15, only 5x PEQ filters vs. 9x filters for FreeDSP (I also have a few CDSP cables.
The Tanchjim DSP versions of the Zero, One, Tanya use a vey similar cable.

how has your experience with the cable so far ? i wanted a cheap DAC solution for my EW200 as my laptop output is bad but thinking of getting this cable for the DSP as well as the mic for attending meetings and calls. how is the mic ?

Excellent experience Those cables, mainly the FreeDSP, have been a game changer for me: I now have several IEMs set with PEQs that work for me, and I no longer need to fiddle with EQ settings, or presets in an app, each time I swap IEMs on my PC or phone.

I haven’t used them for meetings—I use my standard Company Jabra USB headset—and I don’t think I’ve used them for a call (hardly receive any phone call anymore…).
