just wondering, if i am using balanced output on my nw-zx300 with moondrop blessing with 4.4 balanced, is there any improvement when using 4.4mm balanced to 3.5m unbalanced?
as far as I know balanced will give you more power (which you should be able to hear) and lower distortion (which you might be able to hear).

^ this right here

Also, better channel separation, but that‘s usually not a problem on any good single ended output either unless you blast your ears with unhealthy loudness :D

Some IEMs / Headphones really profit from having more power available, but that can be achieved by both SE and Bal Outputs

Just got the Kato from a member and doubt it's fully run in yet. Great device with the right cable and stock foam tips. Stock 3.5 does it no favors. Haven't tried the extra 2.5 cable since I'm 4.4 and don't have an adapter yet. Using this. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001677257226.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.309e2e0ekwHZQh

Balanced vs single ended will be dap etc dependent. The amount of power and distortion differences are negligible either way for any normal IEM. They usually sound somewhat different but it's for other reasons.

Youtube videos of the Silver Matte version of KATOs look amazing. Such a handsome finish.

Several IEMs & accessories are available for 15% off from Moondrop's Amazon store
Their Amazon store carries the Quarks with mic version interesting. Thought they didn't come with mic. Would've bought these instead of the yincrow X6. The X6 sounds ok for their price but I cant seem to get a good fit/seal with them. The shells are just too big for my ears and are kinda uncomfortable.

Edit: looks like mic version came out about a month ago. 😅

Wow so the Aria had me curious about the Starfields so I'm checking them out now and the differences are very interesting. The Aria is definitely more V shaped than the Starfields, with more bass and treble. The Starfields maybe have a better midrange (although this could just be more midrange coming through with less bass and treble). The treble of the Starfields have less shine and sparkle to them compared to the Aria, which have a very special sounded treble to them. This leads to Starfields sounded a little congested and veiled in comparison, on the other hand the Starfields are a more relaxing listen, straying much further away from any kind of fatigue. A small tradeoff of the lifted veil on Aria is slightly more aggression. The width of sound seems to be a bit wider on the Aria due to the shinier treble and wash of bass creating a larger space, although maybe the Starfield sound space is slightly more accurate. You can hear a bit more midrange detail from Starfields with a tradeoff of treble detail being better on Aria. The bass difference between the two is pretty significant, the Aria punches heavy and hard when the song asks for it, while the Starfield is much more polite (kind of HD800S sounding)
Did you use the same cable in this comparison?

Received the Moondrop Nekocake. Here is my mini review.

Moondrop Nekocake - $42.99usd, 1DD TWS. Decent set of TWS. Has 5 preset tuning options built in and accessible within the Moondrop Link app (assuming you have access to the app). The stock tuning, called "Balanced", is meh. Wooly bass, honky mids, relaxed upper mids and smooth treble. Reminds me a bit of Sony ZX-110. Overall, a bit weird and not for me. However, changing the tuning preset to "Classic Moondrop" totally changed the Nekocake into a much better TWS IEM…

With the "Classic Harman" preset, it is Harman Neutral now. Lean clean sub-bass focused bass, lean mids, slightly hot upper mids and smooth treble. For a $42.99usd TWS with Harman tuning, I have no complaints. Sure, it is lacking in resolution, detail, texture, note weight, soundstage is small, imaging is bad… but come on, for a TWS this price, you can't expect too much.

If you are looking for a budget Harman tuned TWS and have access to the Moondrop Link app, I highly recommend the Nekocake. Just remember to change the tuning preset to "Classic Harman". - 4/5
*note: I can't seem to measure the Nekocake with my IEC711. Not sure why. If anyone is able to help, do PM me.

Thank you Shenzhenaudio and Moondrop for sending this out for review. I am not at all compensated by them and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
