Haha I just saw them last night as well and was shocked at the price. So I'm correct in assuming the Limpid Pro is a step up from the SPC 24 core right?

This 24 core:

Well, the Limpid Pro is pure silver versus that 24 core being silver plated copper. I guess it would depend on synergy with the particular iem. But, I'm the wrong person to ask, I don't hear much difference between cables as long as they are made well. I just buy cables that I think are made well, handle well and have the plug that I want or need.

So guys I am ready to go for Variations after so many great shoutouts about them. One last thing I wanted to ask, what?about Variations QC and of Moondrop products of the same caliber in general? Do any Variations Blessing 2/Dusk or S8 owners have any complaints about build quality, durability etc.?
Sadly you will not find this info on a review,

- Black dust cover on the nozzle easily falls of,
you could just remove it, doesn't affect the sound,

- Crackling/buzzing noise in one of the unit,
it's a gamble, just pray to iem god hoping that yours is fine,

- Eartips often slips in and out of the nozzle,
just try every tips that you have, to find the perfect fit,

My ranking system has just been changed. What the rankings means has changed.

Aria's rank...changed. Moved it from S to a B+.

Ranks no longer based on enjoyment to be in a "S," the S is only for gear that engages greatly and can inspire. Explanation unfolding in this impressions video of the KZ ZAS:

EDIT:: Video taken down. I want to give a better upload of my impressions (shot the video authentically when I had feelings to share about the out of box experience, but the walls are not acoustically treated well, and lighting isn't my normal setup).

I will have another video up, hopefully. Or I may move on to other things soon anyway.

Question on cables. Can someone define the sound signature of these different types of material.

1. Sliver
2. Copper
3. Gold
4. graphene
My take: 1. silver is the most neutral and clean sound. It is faster and offers more precision. Top end can really sparkle. Some people find the bass end leaner but technically bass is faster. Sokme people may find silver bright but this should not be the case in a pure silver cable. Can be bright in silver-plated copper cable.

2. copper is warmer sounding, a by richer and thicker. Some people prefer copper for bass end as they feel the sound has more depth to it. Also feel that copper can add more natural tone across vocals.

3. Gold. Gold is tonally most warm of the metals. It is slower than copper and silver but can add a sense of depth when mixed with silver and can soften the sound of silver for people who find it bright.

4. Graphene - I have not heard and cannot comment.

The type of wire can also have different impact with the different metals. For example, silver-plated copper Litz wire probably has a closer sound to silver although won't be as fast but can give a nice shine to the top-end and add some precision. So has a more blended effect which is aided by the Litz construction. Whereas solid core silver-plated copper and multi-strand silver-plated copper will perform differently and can result in silver dominating the high frequencies too much - and more often heard as sounding bright.

Could be caused by the cable or the connectors 🤔
Something loose inside the unit,
lightly tapping it on a desk solve the problem,

@gmdb
Graphene is somewhere between copper & silver,
if you want to venture further, I recommend trying some Palladium, 👍
it's the best IMO,

My Variations came without filter on one of the IEM, lol.
yeah, it's a design flaw,
I'm more worried that the filter falls into my ear, 😱

It's not a design flaw. All moondrops have a damper right in the bore tube. Also there are not rampant problems with Variations. I'm sure they have a few problems here and there but overall Moondrop is very very solid build quality.
It’s fair to consider it a (minor) design flaw, re filter lightly attached across nozzle opening (if that’s what’s referred to). Whether as dirt shield alone or damper, it ought to seat secure enough to keep from flaking off repeatedly

I do agree that if the filter is falling off then that should be addressed by MoonDrop IF the filter actually has a functional purpose.

I took the filter off as soon as I pulled it out the box so I haven't attempted to use them. I personally have not had one single problem with my set. I can only attest to superior build quality, excellent sound quality, and pure enjoyment of these iems. And I push these iems hard with an d30 pro a30 pro setup on medium to high gain.

If someone asked me if they should buy them I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend them. I definitely wouldn't tell them not to because of a "design flaw" due to a $0.01 filter. But that's just me. 😁😎

I guess if filters are of utmost importance to you then maybe the Variations isn't for you. 😳 But if you value excellent audio performance and a great company backing the product then maybe the Variations is for you.
