After years of steady development, technological advancements, and constant refinement, we're excited to introduce a new earbud, U-2, which is priced at just US$34.99 and has some incredible features. Check it out now!

U-2 is equipped with a N52 magnetic circuit and CCAW lightweight voice-coil wire, the 14.8mm diameter dynamic driver combines wearing comfort with exceptional performance. The efficient design and mature tuning delivers a punchy bass, low distortion, full dynamics, fast treble response, rich details, and natural extension.

The cone-and-dome structure of the U-2 is made from the same compressed pulp paper material used in professional speakers, a material that exhibits high rigidity and high internal resistance. Furthermore, the U-2 adopts the same “suspension-cone-dome” diaphragm structure found in full-frequency speaker drivers. This, combined with a flexible suspension compound, delivers a full-frequency response range far beyond that of ordinary earbuds and a smoother and more balanced three-frequency distribution, resulting in fine details and smooth natural timbre.

Paying homage to the pioneering acoustic designs of classic products of over 30 years ago, the structure is optimized and improved on the basis of modern manufacturing technology, optimizing the resonance effect of the brass tube on timbre, and the effect of air viscosity damping on the bass, producing a unique sound texture without the need for sponge covers, and bringing out the full potential of the bass.

U-2 uses twisted-pair silver-plated cable to ensure reliable transmission of audio signals. The 3.5mm standard single-ended plug is compatible with mainstream audio output devices.

CHACONNE is still one of the best chifi earbuds ever released.

I didn’t even doubt that they would be bright.
Why do you need a bass tube if you have a big roll-off up to 400Hz?

Very strange...

I like the "without need for sponge covers" line. Looking at the graph they need the foams. :)

Still look pretty good though.

Perhaps a bit moddable. Not sure how much that cable entry point sticks out enough on the inside. It does look like the cable can pull them in making the top edge of the buds lean out which would not be good. But it does look like you may be able to put some adhesive backed foam on the inside of that "H" shaped cable routing bracket and keep it pushed out if one finds they lean in at the bottom hurting the fit.

Don't be fooled by the U-2 FR graph. The FF3 has a somewhat similar looking graph and when it was first posted many people looked at the graph and predicted that the earbuds would be too bright and the bass would be lame. That's because they wrongly interpret the graph thinking earbud graphs are like IEM graphs, which is totally wrong. If you've heard the FF3, then you know that they are one of the bassiest buds ever.

I'm expecting the Moondrop U-2 to have some excellent bass and not to be overly bright and believe that Moondrop has accurately described how the U-2 will sound.

I'm always happy to see a new flathead earbud, especially from a larger manufacturer like Moondrop. Ordered myself a pair, very excited to try them out!
Are these even released yet? The official Moondrop webstore does have a product page, but doesn't even have them listed for sale yet. Shenzhen Audio is the only place that I've seen them listed for sale. I'm not sure Shenzhen Audio is actually an authorized dealer for Moondrop.

Edit: Hifigo is now listing U-2 for sale.

dear friend, I know how to shoot FR graphs for earbuds :D as you can see from above, they were shot, after all, without ear pads, but okay, but still, the transition from the middle to the upper middle is very large.
