What does the removal of the rear driver cover do? Is it worth doing

If you are going to leave them closed back like I did, I took out the two small foam disks and left the big foam one and the felt one in. That helps it sound less "constricted" for lack of a better word but does have the trade off of making upper midrange/treble a little less even. It sounds awful if you take the big felt disk out, like listening to speakers in a tile bathroom. I left the driver covering that's glued on alone. Are these what people are leaving out?

I liked the M1060C and M1570 a lot. The regular M1060 I thought was okay sounding, probably the most comfortable though. I never tried the 565C version. I own modded M1060C, with vegan pads and open grilles. I hardly use them anymore though. I kind of want to put my DCA headband on it too, to make it the ultimate M1060C.may I ask which is your preference among those three? and have you heard the 565C too? I have this one and it suprised me for how good it is.
What amp are you using? They are easy to drive but planars need juice to make them sound better.I'm not sure what to think about these m1060c
I really can't tell much of a difference to my msr7b, esp eq'd
Plus there heavy as hell.
Can you tell me more about your yellow cable?I think you have to take the cups apart.

The cable was made by a guy on eBay, UK, I can link if you're in the UK,
I think I just need to give them more time
Awesome, thanks. I’ll look at how e clips work now.You need to remove the wood ear cup, then you need to remove the 2 e-clips that hold the pins in, as seen in the pic below:
On some of the units there are also e-clips that hold the pins to the yokes, as circled on the right in the pic of a M1060 below:
any photos?Just bought an m1060c and it has green and red cables on the headphone side, is it the new model of the m1060c?
