I have used this with the Apple branded 30 pin to lightning adapter with the cable & without. It works great with the iphone5 and the ipad Air.

 Thanks -- That's what I ordered to start.  I got a Go-Dap 3 and an extension cable.  I will still probably mill the case away and use some rubber bands to hold either my phone or my ipod classic to the amp.  I figured for $26 it's worth the gamble!

Did you every get it to work with the extension?  I bought it and I am not a handy person so I was wondering if you ever go the case off or partially removed.  Did anyone else try this?
