Thanks for reminding me John! My after supper listening!I must find some of those Ken-Rad to try for myself David; I know you find them a wonderful combination.
I was listening to Better Together. Now I have just started Sleep through the Static. Acoustic guitar is simply spellbinding with this tube pairing.

Still waiting for your impressions on the combo of Meltz 1578 and Gec A2900. Check out this long version of Dire Straits Sultans Of Swing, incredible drum in guitar.
Thanks for pointing to this album - unknown to me - I love Dire Straits and that example is sumptuous!

There are many versions, but I really like this one. The drummer is really good, try this version Dave. Thanks for pointing to this album - unknown to me - I love Dire Straits and that example is sumptuous!

Hey John, try these 12SN7s Westinghouse with the GEC A2900s. They are almost as good as Melz 1578s, very close with a bit of mids forwarded. The Meltz 1578s still come out ahead with clarity and depth. My second choice with A2900s, i have tested about 6 pairs (Sylvinia, RCA, Tung Sol and Westinghouse) of 6SN7 and 12SN7 this morning by using Woo WA 22 as a benchmark and ZMF AC as headphones

That's reassuring! Well done for making the time for the experiment. Out of curiosity, which were the closest runners up?This morning i had a chance to verify my first impressions on Melz 1578. I used my Woo WA22 as a benchmark to compare with MZ3 with 6 pairs ( Sylvania, RCA, Tung Sol and Westinghouse) of 6SN7 and 12SN7 and the a pair of GEC A2900 as input tubes.
These are tubes that i have for Woo WA22.

Ooh! Olive ACs? I always knew you were a Gentleman of Distinction!Hey John, try these 12SN7s Westinghouse with the GEC A2900s. I will see if I can find them on this side of the pond, thank you.

Does anyone know why Langrex don't stock 12SN7 tubes? They never seem to have any.

They have so many 6sn7 tubes they must have run out of room. Seriously, I've wondered the same thing.Does anyone know why Langrex don't stock 12SN7 tubes? They never seem to have any.
