I have the Master 19, gives the empy a wider soundstage a bit more low end compared to the headphones out of the ADI-2 DAC.
Both devices are more then capable enough for driving the Empyrean.

How would you describe the Audio-GD sound characteristic ? Warm, neutral, bright ?

Warm. It has noticeable more weight compared to the RME ADI-2 DAC.

Just tried the Emphyrean with leather pads (non elite). They were plugged into an IFI diablo amp/dac. These sounded very good. Very speaker like presentation. What would be an approximate price for an used pair?

I got mine from a store as a B-Stock (so basically mint condition) included with the upgrade silver cable for just below 2000 €. I believe it was a good deal.
I love my pair!

If I get some Epmys in a couple of weeks, I will let you know how they sound with an Audio-gd Master 9. 9 watts of pure class A into 40 ohms.

I had a Master 9 for a while, not the dedicated Master 9 but the Master 9 in the NOS11 AIO. It sounded stunning. Still remains one of my favourite amps especially at its price point. I'm currently using the Kinki EX-M1+ with the HE XLR adapter. The Kinki is near perfect for me, and even with it in the house, I still think about adding a Master 9 back into my chain as an extra headphone amp at some point.

Oh I was sceptical about the Master 9 initially until I saw that even Kevin Gilmore apparently has one.

Master 9 bested my Apex Peak + Pinnacle. No easy feat considering the Apex wipes the floor with my previous amps - WA22, WA6SE and V200.

Anyway, I have found a local seller the copper Empys. I am still negotiating with him. Let's see...

Has anyone yet tried the new Topping A90 Discrete with the Empys?
I am tempted to buy one as I got the Silver Upgrade Cable with 4,4mm but running it through a 4,4mm to 6,35mm adapter from amazon and an unbalanced amp.
I feel like there is more potential in these waiting to be heard and using 20~$ single ended adapter is bottlenecking these...

For a last couple of days, I am playing Empys from EF400 and it is a beautiful synergy. I mean a really great synergy! Just wow! And I have TT2 for the Empys at home. It is not as much detailed, clean and airy, but holly goodness, this sounds fun. Love it!
