When I received my Empyrean, I found out that the OEM cable is made in China, whilst the silver upgrade is made in Romania. I am guessing, that the original cable lacks in materials but also in quality and that's why the difference is so noticeable. Silver cable and velour pads are the sweetspot for me.

I really like the all-copper upgrade cable from Meze (I have both upgrade cables-- both are very fine, but I prefer the copper). I'm currently using it on my LCD4 actually, to good effect.

I have bought ZMF Verite open It sounds wonderful with OTL amps, but at the same time offers a lot of tube rolling opportunities. Verite sounds well also with Ayon, but Ayon with meze was exceptional match. As i can not afford to stay with that many amps i need to let it go (regretably..).

I have bought Woo wa3 and wa2 later and it is wa2 i am using now. I will probably sell wa3 as well. Ultimately i will probably think about ordering something custom made. A lot of tube amp fans ends up with custom made amps and i becoming to understand why

Nice choice, good ol Wa2.
Certainly a completely different character than the Ayon. I'd expect the Wa2 to be a lot warmer.

Indeed. I like tube magic i would not say meze are completly different to zmf verite. Verite are more detailed and their high impedance works well with tube amps.

Maybe you should wait for the new closed back from Meze that is going to be announced on Monday.
