If that's true I am wondering what the delay is about.
Logistical issues?
Retuning needed?
Marketing reasons to place it on the market at the right point time hoping for more sales?

Questioning last one as with the massive amount of new cans predicted this year the first one coming out generally wins?
Audeze CRBN
Audeze LCD-5
DCA Stealth - yet out
New headphones from Focal
Meze Empyrean Elite
Wow, I didn't realize how many new HP are going to be released soon.
My wallet's just finished crying after buying TT2 and now the fun starts again

The Drop HD8XX should start shipping in the next few weeks.
Thx, now I found it too:

gosh, another contender...

Though I have to admit, I guess almost everyone knows the strength of HD800(S) - even an optimised version wouldn't be a reason for me to skip Empyrean.
Just different flavours but I have to say for 1.1k bucks it could be really a steal compared to what all others are requesting from our purses...

How is it that so many folks in this thread seem to have insider information on the Elite? Have there been closed-door previews going on for months? I'm just trying to imagine where anyone would've had a chance to try out prototype headphones...

I am sure that our Austrian headphone guru @Nomax has more experience in this regard. I expect the Elite to become a great headphone! :)

Antonio posted 5 minutes ago on Instagram: to be revealed at can jam socal 2021, which is September 25th.

He said it will be available for demo there, not that that is the release date. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled in the first few days of Sept, thats for sure.

I think I found a potentially interesting tidbit.

Magnesium is lighter by 1/3rd than aluminum, and the regular Empyrean is made of aluminum. Regular Empyrean weighs 430g, which isn't too heavy, but if you minus one third thats 287g (I could be wrong I suck at math.) That also assumes no heavier magnets being used or any other changes. An Empyrean, with TOTL technicalities, lighter, and comfortable would be a hell of a combo.

Wow how is the Empy 430g? I don't feel it all when i wear it. Meanwhile the Grado PS2000e with 500g felt like one of the heaviest headphones i ever had. How is that possible?

Wonderful, can you ask them if the Pads are any different?
Unfortunately, no more info other than the pics! I think someone mentioned there may be a retune and/or better efficiency- but those seem more like speculation.

Well I know that the Rinaro drivers received a few tweaks and retuning, but no technical Details yet.
Even better efficiency seems unlikely, if any changes there then probably less efficiency to get better control over the driver.
