I’m sure that when the embargo ends, the specs and graphs will magically appear. I’m interested to see whether they produce more detail and better/better controlled bass. Hoping for tweaked magnets and drivers, and not just new pads.

This is exactly the trend of impressions I'm getting from a bunch of people who had the pleasure of demoing it early. Seems like you're in luck.

Agree, though sub bass quantity of Empyrean leaves some room for improvement, but good amp synergy and EQ mostly corrects this.

Is it only me or does it look a tiny bit cheap in silver compared to the old designs?
Might look different in my own hands but from first impression I wasn't wowed tbh.
Not sure though if the special edition is worth the better look plus it's limited anyway - so not sure if it can be acquired anyway anymore...

I have a similar first impression on the looks, but that won't be an issue for me if it sounds better. Bring it on...

If it's all solid metal it can feel quite decent I think, maybe I am just a bit biased with bad examples of cans trying to copy metal finish using plastic (e.g my former Denon AH-D7100 which I liked from its SQ but found it terrible from its looks).
Am feeling reminded of my Traillii purchase.
Was so hot to get one that I didn't want to wait 2 months for a custom face plate (as most of the guys btw).
Now looking at all the fancy examples I sometimes regret it - not such an issue if you re wearing gear inside of the house

I see you are selling Solitaire P...
I have been thinking about getting Solitaire P before the Elite rumors started.
Imho Elite will be a direct competitor to P/PE disregarding different overall toning specifics like more likely laid back on Empy Elite vs more neutral on Solitaire
Any brief opinion if new Elite setup could possible be on pair with Solitaire bass performance and speed /detail?

If it’s priced at Solitaire levels that’s £5000! Then this would be aimed at those where vfm is irrelevant in the pursuit of what can be perceived as the “best” sound at the time. To interest me it would need to sound better to me than Stax 009S or Audeze new electrostatics Which I’ll try in due course.

Don't know where you buy but Solitaire P official price 4800 Eur and you can get it cheaper with the right dealer.
Elite will be cheaper than that without going more into details
