MEZE AUDIO ELITE - The New Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone - official thread

I took pictures of my Meze Elite to possibly sell, but for now I'm taking back that decision. They look and sound too good!

Now I'm mulling selling my Susvara instead, but just hate that I would be taking such a big loss on those.

nice pic. what does the elite give you (apart from superior build quality and power efficiency) that the susvara doesn't and vice versa? asking for a friend.

Why would you feel bad about using them for Video games?
It's not like they are tubes that wear out.

You paid quite some money for the Elite, isn't it nice that they give you your moneys worth not only for music but also for Video games?
Sorry for the late answer. I love them every second. The bass umpfh and the soundstage and imageing are dope for gaming. It's that that I sometimes feel a bit bad about it, because those headphones are so special that I don't want to get used to them as much a I did. I am a bit spoiled now.

I used my Drop (Sennheiser) PC38x, which are nice sounding gaming headsets, a few days ago and they sounded like **it... 🙈😂

Time to sell the Sennheisers then.

they are my backup and I need them to use it with my racing sim rig, where I need a headset with a microphone, because I cant't use my tablemicrophone. Otherwise I would sell them. I could sell every other Headphone, because the Elites tick all the boxes for me. They look brand new, even with everyday usage. And they still bring some new excitement after more than 2 years of use with new pads for example. I hope the new dualpads will bring a new experience.

And one of the bigges pros of the elites is the comfort. I can use them on extended listening sessions or hours long gaming session without even noticing that I am still wearing them. The PC38X instead put a lot of pressure on my ears/head and I'm happy when I can out them off my head.

I've been used Elite since the first release, and to this date, somehow still looks like new. I can understand if the metal and carbon are so solid, but what confuse me more is the earpads and leather strap still looks great.

Same here... used for 6-8hrs a day (week days) and 2-3hrs a day on the weekend and look like new. I've had mine since Nov 2021, a couple of months after they were released.

That trust in the build quality is what also drew me to Meze, there some HP's I have had that I would dread thinking of the state of them in a few years, when you're spending this much, it better last. The fact that it's user serviceable too is icing on the cake

The magnet pads really is amazing. Overall quality is way ahead everything I have owned.

Yeah there are some TOTL headphone makers that shall not be named (but everyone knows who they are 😂) whose build quality and durability sadly leave a lot to be desired.

For me Meze, Abyss and Focal make quality products. I haven't tested ZMF but heard good things as well, maybe some owners can comment on their longevity 🤔

I actually quite like the Susvara build, it's more premium IMO than the HEKse that I had upgraded from. The Meze Elite plays well with my lower power 300B SET tube amp, whereas the Susvara sounds more thin on it. Lots of money invested into my tube amp setup, hence some preference for headphones that pair better with it. Being able to use the Meze Elite from a portable source is also nice.

I don't think Abyss could be considered as best in quality products (Still in good level though). Abyss Diana line up is pretty durable actually, but the O-Ring on AB1266 is clearly the main weakness.

ZMF has "more traditional" design, but everything is also replaceable and come with good material quality. Love how they provide lifetime warranty for the Driver.

Synergy with source is one thing but imho also genre and preferences
I loved Susvara for vocals for example or Jazz or even classic music.
But I missed some fun factor for modern EDM, Rock and similar genres profiting from the colored and raised midbass of the Elite.
I find Susvara relatively lacking in terms of this fun bass factor though Elite has more of a mellow bass compared to something like TC for example.
What is more I find Elite one of the most forgiving headphones ever.
There's hardly a track I find bad with Elite whereas with other headphones I am skipping much more often

For me 1266 (haven't tried Diana) is Meze level when it comes to build quality. Everything is ultra sturdy made with premium quality materials. Magnetic pads, very high grade leather etc. Obv Meze is a work of art design wise ... 1266 could be modern art at best 😂 but it does look and feel like a very serious piece of kit.

I can't agree in the Abyss being close to the Quality of Meze.
The cable alone is horrible and not well built at all
