Exactly my experience. Sold the susvara after I got the elite. Now I consider getting the ha300bmk2 for the elites 🙈
Excellent amp pairing!
Sonic bliss.

Well guys …. Sold the YE5000SE (bought a fancy Jura coffee machine with the $ LOL). Yes it was technically better than the Elite my a small margin. Yes it had better, tighter subbass by a small margin. But man every time I took the YE5000SE off and put the Elite on…I thought….man, the Elite is just more enjoyable. I love this headphone. Now looking to find a closed back flagship and call it a day!

Nice to hear. This will be my first machine. I've wanted one for years.

Glad to see some Elite users also coffee lovers. I run a small cafe shop with VBM Lollo. Two things that help me to relieve stress: Listening to Elite and the process of making my own coffee everyday (been 2.5 years and still have hard time to make proper latter art lol)

New Elite owner checking in!

Had been eyeing up the Elite for ages and finally took the plunge over the weekend. Back when I got my 2020 Utopia I was deciding between getting that and the Elite - ended up choosing the Utopia as was more used to the Focal house sound and it felt like a safer/more tried-and-tested choice for some reason (I was less familiar with the Elite at the time, but I did love how it sounded from a brief demo). Over time I started realising I wasn't reaching for my Utopia as much as other cans, and it rarely made me feel emotional connection to music. It impressed me, but it didn't move me. Managed to get a good trade in deal on my Utopia for an Elite and boy am I glad I went ahead with this.

Will share fuller impressions at a later stage as I'm still in the early days of burning in etc. but two interesting things which I've experienced for the first time for me during this hobby: firstly, an odd sense of relief washed over me during my first few hours of listening - I think it was a relief at having finally found a sound signature / tuning that seems exactly catered to my tastes, like I'd reached the end of a search I wasn't even aware I'd been on. Secondly, I've been finding the sound so emotionally engaging I'd actually have to think carefully about my choice of song, and would find myself pausing songs due to being overwhelmed at times. Maybe some of this can be attributed to new toy syndrome/excitement, but it felt noteworthy to me.

At the moment I am absolutely loving how vocals sound on these. I'm really not used to mids being this fleshed out. Suffice to say, I vastly prefer these to the 2020 Utopia - they are considerably more natural-sounding (and frankly aren't that far behind on "slam", which is of course Utopia's calling card).

Glad to hear you’re enjoying your new Elite! Have you done any pad swapping yet? It’s incredibly easy with the magnetic system. I much preferred the Hybrid vs the OG Alcantara pads, but I’ve now been fully converted to the Angled Alcantara pads.

Thank you! Actually have only used the Hybrid pads so far. Will give the stock Alcantara a go but can't see myself wanting to give up any of this sumptuous bass response. In terms of cable, just running off my ZMF 2K Copper for now.

Angled pads have been ordered and are on their way too!

I thought that the angled pads come with the newer version elites stock now.

I used a 2K Copper with my Elite and had zero complaints. I happened to get a Verite Silver cable with a Verite Closed I bought, and now I use that, mostly because it matches the Elite so perfectly.

I don’t feel like I give up anything with the Angled pads. Bass quantity is still sufficient, but bass quality goes up quite a bit. I think you’ll like having them as an option.

They may well do - I got an "open box" Elite that had in fact not been unsealed, so I guess from an older batch of stock.
