Hey everyone! I’m loving reading this thread for all the feedback with the elites. I have recently gotten them and I absolutely love the build quality, presentation and sound. Prior to them I had the QC45s and still have my APM on the go. I figured like many other hobbies, you can buy every step of the ladder or just buy once and cry once, which I did after testing out focals and Audezes offerings. The elites are awesome and I currently have them paired with a Hifiman ef400 + power conditioner running the stock quarter inch cable. Has anyone A/B tested the ef400 with other amps for the elite in a similar price range? Would love to hear feedback. I also have a k5pro ESS and it sounds great there too. I’m within my window of exchange for both and my concern is reliability with Hifiman, however I can find plenty of issues with high end stuff too here on the forums. I’m primarily thinking of the following if I upgrade

Burson conductor performance, with or without the bal outputs

Mojo 2 (battery concerns me but people rave about the sound. I have yet to hear any chord products!)

RME all in one. Any other thoughts/suggestions? Catching up a lot on here and I feel tubes are a little out of my depth, I’m looking for something easy, reliable and sub 1k if the quality is there. At the end of the day, I’m getting lost in the music again and that’s something that hasn’t happened since I was a teenager. That’s also speaking from someone who works in the music industry with all the accolades and all that jazz. Loving this new hobby and music all over again! Thanks and have a great day peeps.

Well Imo there was no contest with the LCD-5 so...here we are, finally found the last piece of the puzzle for my chain and a worthy companion for my Z1R.

That is a Woo Audio HPS-T. Superb stand, high quality, though a bit pricey (especially when you want to get them to Europe).

It very much depends on the tube amp and tubes used. Some OTLs might be too much, but some transformer coupled tube amps can sound surprisingly clean and clear with the Elite. They are certainly a joy on the HA-3A and with the tubes you can fine-tune the sound from quite neutral to warm. Tubes bring a sense of realism that SS amps can't offer.

It is a good upgrade compared to the stock cable, but for the retail price you can do better.

As Betula said it depends on the Tube amp. The Elite's are magical on the Feliks Envy with the right tubes - Powerful and Soulful but with ridiculous detail.

That thing is costly though - I will not have paid it off for some months!

Well, I like my Wywires Platinum which I mentioned only a few posts ago, but if you search the thread you will find dozens of suggestions from $200-300 to $2000-$3000.
