MEZE AUDIO ELITE - The New Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone - official thread

Welcome to our Club.

For most of us the Elite strikes the perfect balance between detail and musicality. Looking forward to your impressions since you're used to Susvara and Abyss.

Your Wavelight is amazing and the synergy with your Wa33 is so good that Woo decided to place an Elite together with it on the new Marketing shots.

That looks great, and there is a side view to show the complete system in Woo Audio's IG.

I have listened to Liric intensively in past weeks, and I change back to Elite again before I return the Formula S and SagraDAC stack back to XiAudio. The Elite is definitely superior, even when I try to ignore the soundstage advantage, definitely the best part of Elite but I'll contribute that to the open back design (at least partially  ). Maybe the Formula S is a good match to Meze Elite because it is uncommon to have authorities and refinement at the same time and this what I heard with my Elite.

Very nice… I found that, unlike the Empyrean, the Elites sounded excellent from the start and get better. The Empyreans took 100hrs or more before they settled in. Have fun!

Nice! What tubes are you using with your WA33?

Thanks! These are the EH6c45pi gold pin drivers, eml300b 2.5v power tubes, and the kr274b rectifier.

Searched the thread about pads and saw some ppl using the alcantara pads with a low shelf. I think that would be my preference, but unfortunately I'm using Squeezelite and can't add EQ. Unless I move back to Roon..

The alcantara pads are more comfortable and feel nicer overall, and I like the overall presentation more than the leather pads, but yea there is less bass and some obvious cut/roll-off down low. Sub-bass and bass amount are better with the leather pads. The leather pads sound more forward to me, bringing the vocals a few steps in front of everything else.

These are way early thoughts. Not sure if the bass gets better after some running in. Will stick with the leather pads for now.

Nice review and I’m in agreement with how you view them against TOTL headphones.
German magazine "Stereoplay" placed Elite a class above Abyss 1266 PHI TC, T+A Solitaire P, Focal Utopia and Stellia (and Empyrian, of course). Susvara was never tested.

Some people may not believe them, but I do - based on 33 years of experience.

Very interesting.
Thanks for sharing.

Finally a Magazine granting the praise it deserves
