I haven't heard another headphone till now to reproduce acoustical instruments with such a lifelike timbre and texture.
It competes only with some high end speakers.
The Elite is THE headphone for classical music.

Honestly this one of the best amplifiers I have ever had the pleasure to experience.
Natural sounding is not enough to describe the signature.
Combined with the Elite or the FiiO FD7 is like being at the concert and that is with the M11 Plus as a source.
Can't imagine with the DX300 but I am to lazy to switch because I can't stop listening.
The Class A tube mode is a heavenly experience.
I could easily sell most of my gear and call this end game.
And of course marketing the C9 as a portable only solution is wrong.
This can easily fulfill desktop duties.
With one great advantage.
The batteries.
Oh , the batteries , there isn't an existing lps no matter how high end it is to replace a good battery supply.
Silence, blacker than the black, dead silent, best silence I have ever heard.
If I could afford it there is no way to return it back...
Now back to listening!

Looking forward to more impression from Elite and C9 combo. The Elite can be flat packed, that makes it a very good transpotable solution for frequent travellers, so I have a lot of hope with this type of combo.

I thought that I have already commented.

Synergy with all modes but especially with the tube engaged is exemplary.
One of the most natural, engaging, musical and timbre done right, experiences of my life.
Technicalities are top, background is pitch black, holography and 3D soundscape.
Easily end game, not for portable but for home either.

I think Meze will come up with something similar sooner or later. Driver change or trade-in. It is just a fiddly process as not all LCD4 owners will like the LCD5 and not all Empy owners will prefer the Elite. So working out the exchange and return policies is not that easy I guess.

We call this passion, and this is an indispensable part of our hobby.

When Jane Austen wrote his beloved "Sense and Sensibility", he put Elinor (the Sense) at the centre of the plot, she is the intellectual and affectionate, and she facilitated her family (or system?). Elinor is predictable because her behaviour is based on a correct judgement and careful observation of circumstances. Her sister Marianne (the sensibility), on the other hand, is emotional and imprudent, she act according to her own feelings, and at time, even ignores other's feelings.

I am sure a lot of us will go through the "Elinor" process when we build up our sound system. However its "Marianne" who added spark and emotion to the scenes. "Sense" is necessary in our hobby, but the process is hardly meaningful if we don't have the passion for music behind all the science, objectiveness and critical comparison. At time we just need to let go, focused on our own feeling, and enjoy the precious moments which, IMHO, are the ultimate goal of our hobby. I am glad that you have experienced these emotional moments with our Elite. Please keep this going and continue to share your impression with us.
