Quantity seems the same to me as is dynamics and hitting.
Let's talk quality.
In easy contemporary stuff like
https://open.qobuz.com/track/77469843
Or
https://open.qobuz.com/track/58017746
You don't really pay attention and notice.
But when we get serious
https://open.qobuz.com/track/99457276
https://open.qobuz.com/track/6984565
https://open.qobuz.com/track/2367658
https://open.qobuz.com/track/48480236
Then you realize that the Clear compared sounds plastic and fake no timbre quality.
You can't hear the sustain of the chords, the plucked string decay, the harmonics, the overtones of the chord, the timpani strokes, you can't tell what kind of hummer or technique is used by the instrumentalists.
So I guess it depends on how trained are the listener ears and what kind of music is listening.
The Elite is not your edm partner.

Digi one signature - Ares II - Flux FA-12

Why would Elite not be the EDM partner if it has same bass quantity as Clear? Clear's bass is as much as anyone could want from a "neutral with bass boost" listening device.

Because my understanding is that EDM etc listeners prefer a more boosted bass like that of the Empyrean or the Stellia.
I don't know maybe I used the wrong terminology?
Anyway I mean genres that people appreciate with boosted bass.
If someone is ok with a natural bass response then it is perfect.

I have Clear MG and Elite, and basically have the identical perceptions as Ichos. My Elites are also clearly still evolving... slowly. Clears are made better to me with basic AutoEQ recommended settings, and I prefer Elite without EQ to Clear MG with or without EQ. So much so that I may actually sell the Clear MG. There will probably be a big sell off, as a result of my buying Elite. Empy will go to work. Bed-Fi will be Elite, VO, and HD800S.

Got it thanks. I see what you mean. There's a fine line between boosted bass and bass bloat that very few headphones and iems know how to walk. Empy and Clear both do amazing and offer plenty of it while being very tasteful.

Also just wanted to share this (hope I am not doing anything wrong here).

Oh Elite vs HD800S , very interesting you have a diverse taste!
Sold mine after I bought the Clear OG which where sold after I got the Empyrean!!!
Which it seems that are going to the classifieds very soon...

Empyrean and Stellia bass is not bloated at all.
Excellent and tastefully boosted (slightly) bass.

Does anyone who knows how to run the scripts care to generate AutoEQ for Elite, based on Jude's measurements for the Elite/hybrid pad combination? It allows for an interesting comparison among headphones, even if it is not particularly relevant to the native sound signatures of the involved headphones.

Please and thank you.

Today, I am using the Elites through a Burson Soloist amp in power amp mode (full 8 watts of power) into a RME Dac Fs for volume control. I am pleasantly surprised that they are starting to really improve. A full 8 watts in power amp mode via XLR is as much power as I have available for the Elites. It seems to make a difference. I know they work fine with much less juice, but I am perceiving improvements. I have only had these since Monday. Hopefully, they will keep improving.

Most of my listening testing last night was on Euforia AE, with KT88 drivers, and dual KT150/TS5998 powers. This sounds great with Empys, and much, much better still with Elites.
2xKT88 and 2xKT150 is quite risky to run though.
They draw a combined 7.2A

Okay, we'll see how much changes. I'm definitely way over 60 I think. It's a constant day/night burn in.
Woeful. I remember the claims of the Empyrean reaching 2,010 hours and reaching the lands of magic.

I really need to hear Utopia at some point, but it is getting pretty old, and I can wait for that which comes next, or buy a cheap used one.
There was a 2020 update, I believe.
