Since when is audio about looks? And since when is $500 considered expensive? To you, that might very well be the case but that's budget oriented mid-range pricing for most of us here.
Lol.... All of us? Speak for yourself... I am pretty much sure most headfiers do not pay full price for all their headphones and if they did, they and myself included would have to fill for bankruptcy....

No sir. Not all of US like to burn money ...

Well, I'm an undergraduate, I would need to starve myself to buy the 660S.
But even if I had the cash, I don't see any reason to get those over, let's say the 598s or DT770s, I've tried expensive stuff (with audiophile recordings) and compared them in retail stores and frankly I couldn't tell the difference...
