My Siemens EL11 arrived today and are sounding great , very close in sound IMO to my EL12 spez Telefunkin , maybe not quite as good in the low end . Sounds perfect with some classic Blues . Bobby Rush. This legend is 90 and still touring and recording albums . Legend !!
Marconi EZ81/U709, RCA 5691 Red Base , Siemens EL11. Also sounds great with my new ITT 5A/152M drivers which adds a little more top end sparkle.IMG_2501.jpegIMG_2500.jpegScreenshot 2024-05-21 at 10.28.36 PM.pngScreenshot 2024-05-21 at 10.31.36 PM.png

If you like Bobby Rush, I'm going to throw in an extremely biased recommendation for my good friend Toronzo Cannon. He's a Chicago-based blues guitarist and singer.

Oh, you got 5A/152M drivers. Aren't they nice? You can get 1 more pair and run them in Sakuma style. Try the EL11 as drivers and the EL12 spez as powers very nice sounds. I love my EL3N in Sakuma style, the tonality is clear, rich, full and very dynamic.

Pin 6 is not used in EL34, so on some versions it is completely removed. It is not the only tube type with this situation.
AH , OK thanks, that explains it

I received these two treasures today.
As always, Ebay was helpful for a good deal on both for €50.😁😁😁😁😁

The Rca JRC is really not bad, unfortunately I have to wait until my hearing loss has recovered.
I changed the pads on the atrium yesterday and obviously they must have pressed a bit on the blood supply to the ear.
At least it was enough for a hearing loss.
I'd never experienced anything like that before.

If you ever get a chance to see him, I'd recommend it. He puts on a good show (and does perform all over the world).

Is that Valvo E80CC Heerlen made?

Wow one day away and so many posts. :relaxed: I stop getting notifications. Anyhoo good to see the tube rolling going great guns. @crakers7 EL11 is never as good as EL12 spez as power tubes. It's good nevertheless. Ymmv. Try EL11 and EL12 spez..

Meanwhile, since Lory post yesterday about the Sylvania 6Y6GA, I've been using it for a day. This gets my vote as the best value for money power tube for Ultimate.

I have not found a code.
There are only 4 white numbers on it.
I would have to take another closer look.

Edit: white code are 1959 nothinh more on the tube.

This is a photo of your tube and I see a code low down, below bottom mica through the glass and the first digit looks like the Heerlen factory code. I can't see the date code that comes after.

If you're to do a lot of tube rolling (and you would if you have Ultimate) then it's better (obvious) to get a Super chassis with dual drivers option. You have more room for your hands to reach for the tubes and a lot more tube options.

6J5 in all it's forms are good and interesting.

6J5gt metal base
6J5 metal
6J5G coke bottle
L63
VR135 with adapters
6c2c
6s3p
EC86
6s45p / 6s15p with adapters
etc

Don't forget that c3g with adapters can be used in the 6J5 slots.

Is 6c5 also equivalent to 6J5 or is it a separate genus again?
I saw someone using it here a few days ago.
Otherwise I have seen 6J5 Metal Sylvania cheaply with plump red 6J5 print.

@David A Silva
Thank you hope it gets better the days.😉😉😉😉
