Matrix X-SPDIF 2 - a Singxer SU-1 killer?

I bought a fairly cheap linear power supply (about a hundred bucks) to try out on the matrix and to my surprise it does make it a tad bit more "alive" is the word I'll use. Im feeding it around 8.5 volts and I'm guessing it'll use the 800 milliamps the instructions say it would use as I don't have a gage for current.

No big night and day difference but I'm guessing the increased voltage just makes it function a bit better... It's basically just increasing the electrical pressure and giving it some more current making it more alive...
The best way I can describe it as is a more pronounced separation of sounds. That's nothing it did not do already do but it does it a tad bit better now...

Which of the digital outputs gave you improved SQ with the linear PSU, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm always on the lookout for an affordable LPS that does more good than harm. Can you give the details of this LPS for those of us who might also want to purchase one?

Do people have experience with Jay's Audio LPS?

Indeed. Looks like both brands are copying a well-established electrical design and both are using similar chassis probably available in the DIY community. I know the Jay's Audio LPS was popular among Geek Pulse users years ago so maybe it is the original and it does appear to have more premium parts than the Breeze Audio version. In the end, not bad for around $150 and not breaking the bank. Might try one, especially if I could use it to power both ISO Regen and Matrix. That would be appealing.

That LPS looks identical to one I purchased... Not sure if the parts might be upgraded or not ..

Here's a question I've been meaning to ask for a while: In the "Matrix Audio Control Panel" (Windows), under the "Format" tab, what's the optimal setting for bitrate if feeding into a Holo Spring DAC thru I2S? And why?

I play mostly 44.1k/16-bit FLACs. On occasion I will upsample from the PC using HQPlayer to PCM 705k or DSD512 but to be honest when I do it's just for the hell of it.
