Was going to get the matrix m stage and was thinking of getting the firestone fubar 2 mkII as the dac. Does anyone have this combination or heard it before. Just wondering how well these pair. Will be using this setup with beyerdynamic dt880 600ohm if that helps, thanks.

I'd pair that m-stage with an htr-ms ii. I think that you'd be pretty happy with the pairing.

ok theres one for the music streamer. The only thing i dont like about the music streamer is that the rca and usb are on seperate sides. I know thats a stupid reason lol. Anyone tried the fubar?

From what i know there's a Matrix M-stage USB dac version, why you need a dac?

From what I heard the usb version has an alright dac in it but not on par with m-stage's amp quality. So unless you're looking for portability it's a far better choice to get just the amp version and pair it with a standalone dac.

Ok looking at getting hrt music streamer II to go with it probably, but also looking at dacmagic. I know thats a big price difference, but is it worth it? If i went into the 350 dollar range for a dac would the dacmagic be better then the hrt music streamer II +?

I used them with the Cambridge Audio DACMagic and found it to be a very good combo.

Just my opinion, but I'm not crazy about the M Stage and DT880 600 ohm, the combo can sound rather bland with a lot of music.
 
Who knows, maybe a good DAC will help this combo. I do think that the M Stage is a very good amp and will respond very well to a high quality DAC.

Well i bought the dt880 and the hrt music streamer II and as of now am using my pioneer sa510 amp and i have a sansui g9000db as well that i need to get fixed. Im probably going to buy a little dot mk3 for a tube amp.
