Noob question about the compensated graph, does that add an EQ curve that is supposed to simulate a speaker system in a room a-la Sean Olive’s research, or am I completely off the mark?

its diffuse field compensation, to give you an idea the Etymotic ER4s is one of the closest diffuse field tuning for neutrality

The Compensate Diffuse Curve basically normalizes the Raw graph to what research has perceived as "flat" for a headphone IEM. Etymotic ER4 is fairly close to this curve.
