Dude you're gonna wear out those filter threads :D

Hahaha front blue is already slightly wearing off. I'm finally 100% golden on Black Blue setup. Such a beautiful sound.

Just wondering is the conensus on these spiral dot tips or spinfit?

I have spiral dots, but haven't bothered with them since the spinfits are a pretty good match (when I really want that bass presence) - good contact with the ear canal. The default tip (green inside) and the black ones inside the zip pouch are nice.

I recommend new users to really experiment with tips and insertion depth to establish a nice ratio between bass/mids/soundstage balance. A4 by design is a rewarding piece of work.

How do you like it so far?

How does the blue change the sound compared to black and red?

For me, it brings air the treble and vocals come out to their fullest. Most open sounding of all the filters.

Sure will! Now that I have spiral dot tips and spinfits, won't have to worry about tips and also less filter combinations makes it easier to choose from. I do not have a proper source yet, so I won't comment on anything before my gov2+ inf. gets here. I just hope the mids aren't too recessed, not a fan of even a hint of vshaped. I can work with a slight downsloped sig or emphasized mid-bass like the clear/none/grey flc combo

Hohoho, V-shaped/recession in mids you will not find one bit in the A4. I too was concerned as to how the mids are going to be presented. I'm glad and confident in saying that mids are readily available in the way you configure your A4. Filters, tips, insertion depth will contribute to the rewarding experience.

Here is a new one: depending on gain, voices can either be recessed or just at the right distance.

I'm using a xuelin ihifi770 dap which has two gain settings. Green front filters work well with low gain, and I'm totally enjoying the black font filters on higher gain.

Also, your setup will influence which vocal gender you'd like to add sweetness to, so feel free to experiment and share your experience.
I enjoy how this really adds fullness in male vocals (exclusive female vocal specialist iem are a bit overrated imo).

I play around/experiment with the black front nozzles and get satisfying results for female vocals, upper mids and lower treble which at all times, remain unoffensive.

I enjoyed the Trinity Audio PM4 with silver and purple filters, so I can remain confident as to how I enjoy my A4 - relaxed but detailed, and very very satisfying. :>

Edit: lots of confidence and satisfaction on this last post...that a good thing?

Welcome to LZ - A4 anonysmus audimus, my name ist Demian and i'm a green filter addict. The NOFILTERATALL / BACK and GREEN / FRONT is addicting as i am to them. It makes no sense, neither does life. Do your self a favor and try it.

Two songs I've been enjoying immensely on the A4 with red(b) and green (f) that I think highlight the stents of this piece of gear:

Dubai Blues by Chickenfoot (just ignore the lyrics!)

Wolves by Rag N' Bone Man

Any fans of Joe Satriani or new school soul music should definitely check these out.

The language regarding the A4 has been really positive.  What drove me to order it was the consistency of the language from the older reviews to the newer reviews and with the posts on this thread and impressions like those of @Jackpot77's.

I am holding my expectations back, which are kind of high, and keeping them at an excited curiosity.  I have been let down by hype as well, and it's one of the reasons I hold myself back from what to expect.

But I can't wait to get them in the mail
tongue.gif
and see what all the talk is about.

I can say Penonaudio was a pleasure to order from.

Nice to see you over here too! Feeling somewhat let down by the PM4 hype too.. Especially considering that I've not yet received them in spite of preordering in the early days.

For what it's worth, unless you're a basshead, I don't think you could be disappointed with these IEMs. I've had/tried Shozy Zeros, Sendiy M2s and Havi B3 Pro1s.

Zeros are the winners in this price range - loved them.
Havis were initially impressive but I think the right driver is stuffed since they buzz at certain frequencies. Soundstage was ONLY impressive with Spiral Dot tips.
Sendiys were tricky - neutral filter is too neutral, bass filter too bassy. However, a nice fun earphone, great for exercising.

Now, the A4s are about 4 times the price of any of the others but my LORD they really deliver. They will reproduce bass beautifully but not as overly-pronounced as on the Sendiys. They are very accurate (to my ears) without being fatiguing. Bass has punch, mids do not suffer. Soundstage is MUCH more impressive than the Havis. Maybe (don't shoot me here folks)...maybe the Zeros have a wider soundstage but the A4s really have a decent sense of height and depth as well.

I held off for a while, preferring to test the waters of cheaper Chinese earphones with the (quickly tries to divide 400 by 6)....sub $66 offerings. I felt I couldn't really justify the outlay on the A4s. Then someone (I think over in the Chinese IEM thread) said the A4s were the bomb, and those of us picking up multiple cheaper pairs should save up a bit and just grab the A4s. Very glad I did as suggested - I'm sorted for earphones now. I can at least assure you that they are not hyped up, they are simply lovely lovely IEMs.

Soundstage more impressive than the Havis...???? Good point that you brought up too, my SDs are permanently mated with the Havis, to the point that I forget that the tips affect the soundstage a lot.

Phew finally caught up with the thread. It moves fast!

Under the gentle hypnotic persuasion recommendation of @RedJohn456 and @peter123 (again) I found myself clicking buy on AK Audio's store.

Their prices have been consistently below the (normal) prices of a few other sellers that I went to look up (Thanks to Tamal for the recommendation) and are responsive to customer inquiries.
My A4 had just been shipped out so it's back to the familiar hand wringing again for the next week or so.

I have and love the A2 and absolutely adore the FLC8S (apart from that tiny bit of unrefined grain in the highs) so the A4 seems to be where it's at!

Yah, *sigh*...  the hype around the pm4 isn't very reliable.

You're kidding?...  You'd have to live in a cave in Antartica to not have received it by now.

Well they're remaking it immediately after releasing it...  so that kind of tells you, you know?.  The rest I leave you to experience...  If you ever get to
frown.gif
.  The master does sound good from what @Jackpot77has to say, but the A4 seems like a safer bet IMO.

I'm supposed to receive my A4's today and see how it compares to the language here.  I'm optimistic

This seems to have happened several times so far..

I was all for having it refunded in favour of the A4 but I can't even do that because I've got nothing to return.
Wrote to Jake and he advised me to wait for another week. If it's been well and truly lost, then we will try to come to a settlement.

Hi. Got mine yesterday. Very first Impression was like "WOW" with stock tips and black/back blue/front. Very detailed overal sound. End of the day I settled to the no/back and blue/front with my transparent silicone tips of the SW3. No/back come closer to natural male voices in comparison to red or black/back + blue/front. @Lurk650 I agree, maybe other combinations serve a more neutral overall sound but I like the blues/front for their treble strenghts.

But at the end I compared to my good budget IEM KZ ATE (RQ-18NMB) and Tennmak Pro (emphasize mids by EQ). Early impressions, though! Yes, the LZ A4 are soundwise superior over both and I will very likely keep the LZ, but for me it is once more the finding that you buy some percentages (or even some more  better sound with x-times more money. But that's the game.

Q1: I exclusively listen to music with my Sony Xperia Z3 compact and 320K MP3. I wonder if I would realise a bigger advantage of the LZ over my other IEM if I would use hi-res equipment and files?

Q2: Does anyone know a MMCX cable with inline remote for the LZ A4 which is soundwise and in quality aspects comparable to the stock cable?

That sucks.

I returned my pm4 after 2 days.  That was a low point for trinity IMO.  I want to see them succeed, but their evolution has been a...  challenging one, so to speak.

Hence, my reason for testing this IEM out.

The language I have seen behind the A4 looks like hype, but it doesn't have that flavor of hype that raises a red flag.  There's a consistency to it, which suggests reliability, and it seems pretty well grounded, especially with comparisons, or clearly expressed as an opinion...  instead of something vaguely declared all the time.  People don't seem like they are trying to make it sound more than it is and even show reservation to prevent from doing so.

And something that I haven't heard for a long time is how the IEM evokes emotion the way it does.  That's reassuring to me.  Can't wait to see.... hear  ....  ugh it is almost here

Waiting on my JVC spiral dots. But others have really liked the spiral dot and A4

I lean toward spinfit cp-100 with the wider bore to get on the filter from cp-800 for narrow nozzle

I have Auvio wide bore silicone and they are nice as well. I was worried about a bit too much high end but not the case on the green filter. Bass is good as well.
Auvio is easier to get a fit than spinfit always need a little tinker to get those in right

Also anyone pair these with MMCX BT cable. I know Trinity has one but the lowest volume setting I got when used with PM4 ( used the 2 pin connector of course but I believe it had same BT module)was too loud for me and the drops in connectivity sucked

CP100 bore looks too narrow for A4 IMO. I'll have to check it myself this weekend, but it doesn't matter for IEMs like flc8s for sure because it's got a tiny hole in the middle of the huge nozzle, but the narrow bore of CP100 doesn't look like it can support the wide nozzle.
