LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread

If they don't murder the LZ A4 (and I think the chances are slim to none of this happening) then I'm going to be bummed. I would cancel, but now it's 30% cancellation fee! Ugh.

I'm aiming for this weekend for my A4 review :-)

I've settled on red rear filter, black front nozzle. Anyone else like this combination? I understand that it's v-shaped with massive bass and extended treble, but damn if this isn't a blast to listen to. I will admit that I'm a bit overwhelmed with the combinations. For a more neutral sound, do you guys recommend swapping those to black rear, red front? That seems to be a favorite combo of many. Thank you!

Yes, I'm still messing around with red/black back and red/black front nozzles only.

Unsubscribed from that mess which is the Trinity Thread. I never liked these almost religious tones in there. When they arrive, they arrive. I'm not expecting anything, really. Probably for the best. Maybe we will be suprised.
Anyway, I do hope that my own A4s arrive in the next days.

My A4 hit New York today, the 7th,now it's the long trip to California. Hopefully by Friday I'll have em.

With my PM6 cancelation and a lost $25 I'm done with Trinity Audio. I still have my recently acquired Techne though lol

Oh! I thought the A4 couldn't be worn over-ear. Would that affect the horizontal sound stage or the positioning?

I don't see why, as long as the correct channel goes to the correct ear with a good seal.
You will also see Peter wearing them over/down in the images top right with no adverse SQ effect comments.

Yeah, you were lucky dodging that 30% cancelation fee. At this point in time, I rather just wait out the release and resell them in case they are lackluster. But let's not make this a Trinity circlejerk. :)

Looking forward to any FLC8s comparisons. At less than half the full retail of FLC I'm hoping A4 stands up well to it.

Will do. I actually have a three-way comparision planned, with measurements and my opinion of all possible filter-combinations. I really love the FLC8s and I hope the A4 can follow suit.

The Reds and Blacks are my favorites too, on both configurations.

Ha ha, I thought they were designed to be worn over the ears and have used them this way most of the time without any issues.

I'm also looking forward to FLC8 vs A4.

LOL. In fact, I was thinking about vertical sound stage in mind, not horizontal.

I've never done any experiment on this. IEMs also have vertical sound stage. If the unit is rotated 180 degree using upside-down (normal vs over the ear), would that affect the vertical soundstage, i.e. having the singer singing at the back of your brain? You know what I mean?

Perhaps, a stupid question. I've this puzzle for some time. haha. That's why I always use the IEM in the recommended way.

Its possible to do, but its hardwork,  will have to train the brain.
1) Always sit in front of TV backwards
2) Same while listening to music on speakers
3) Watching movie in movie theater (bit awkward)
In 6 months brain is ready to get following experience from iems

Vertical= Front and back. LOL, I lack the appropriate technical vocabs. I supposed the sound is 2D.(left, right, front and back). Anyway, the discussion is off-track, and we should discuss A4.
