Works fine John - installed easily, using the generic "USB" audio driver.  As you said, capped to 16/44.1 but working perfectly.  A step in the right direction.

An example of what the LP5 USB DAC screen looks like.

Also @deafanddumb
, LP5 put an acrylic screen protector on top of the screen, so it is not just cheap plastic like you mentioned.

Thanks for the info....is this a recent upgrade? And do we know how scratch or break resistant it is? I still think a small piece of gorilla spec glass would be more expected from both this price point and design ethos.....I still wait for the mk2 version :frowning2:

I don't think u can get gorilla glass at this size or quanlity.

Most touch screen that are not using gorilla glass will.be using regular glass or acrylic.

Fair enough...but think about all the watches now using small circular pieces of sapphire bass glass on pieces cheaper than the LP5....pre cut. Could be an easy and only slightly more expensive option?

New firmware for LP5.

1.0.2.0: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yov8iamos3cdm3s/lpfwpkg_lp5_v1.0.2.0.rar?dl=0
1. USB DAC now supports more sample rates, delay option, and able to turn off screen in USB DAC mode.
2. Some major modification to the player backend.
3. Maximum song allowance increase to 6000 songs.

Just installed it.  DAC now has modes for 16/44.1, 16/48 and 16/96.  Guessing it is still hitched to a generic driver though.  Tried watching a youtube video (one that synchs well with other dacs). Unfortunately out of synch on all 3 modes/sample rates.

Is there a log with all of the other changes John?

Have you tried changing the delay setting on L5p?

How do you do that?  Documentation is not exactly a strong point  ......

It's OK - found it.  Strangely you cannot access it while it is actually in DAC mode - which doesn't make a lot of sense.

And that has fixed it brilliantly - thanks John :)

Now there is no lag.

sorry to ask, is there an eq in the LP5

Yes - and no EQ.  There are DAC filters (2 digital choices) but that's pretty much it

Bought this from a fellow head-fier. For all its GUI failings, Very capable player. Throw anything at it it plays with aplomb. Be it instrumental, vocals, Oldies, pop, rock whatever. Does not color the music at all. Reproduces faithfully.
