UAC1 is used on older devices like the Nintendo Switch, so unless necessary, 2 is the way to go. It's mainly an issue compatibility - wise :)

Check this out.
New full protective case.

The case finally made it here.
Good quality, snug fit, definitely not magnetic. Green is actually dark green, darker than W2 case, both are pictured below for comparison.

Thinking of selling my W4… I love it, but to be honest I hardly ever use it (either using my daps or TWS these days)… if you’re in the EU and are looking for one, hit me up. Will work on photos and an ad this weekend!

For what it is worth, Parallels has never worked for me when it comes to updating firmware on dongle DACs, whether from L&P, Fiio, or other manufacturers. I think this is a shortcoming of Parallels on Mac OS itself, not an issue on L&P's side.
No problem at all with the free version of VMware Fusion (player version 12), just updated without problem (Intel MacBookPro)

Hi guys!
I've tried to do burn in with the W4 without the leather case but after a few hours playing some music via PC the W4 was getting extremely hot and there was only a hissing noise instead of the tracks I've tried to play. After cooling down the W4 is now getting hot after two tracks...I don't want do bake beans with this dongle...its so disappointing...
Has anyone the same problem?

Thx

Please define 'extremely hot' - Like warm to the touch kinda hot, almost burning your hand hot, or boiling water hot? If it is the former, I'll say it is relatively normal, if it is the latter two then obviously something is wrong. I don't really purposely burn in my W4, but even after an hour or so of listening, I'll say it is barely lukewarm at most.

Guess too high of a gain with hard to drive headphones can push them. It does get warm after an hour with Monarch MKII (relatively hard to drive IEMs), but nothing that I'd personally describe as "extremely hot".
Hissing though is a real concern, may be you baked it, check with the retailer.

Just checked with my thermal camera - after about 10~15 minutes of playing 1 kHz pure tone on my PC to a 47 ohm dummy load via balanced out, my W4 (inside leather case, not exposed to any direct cooling) went up to 37~38 degree Celsius from ambient 30 degree Celsius room temperature. From past experiences, it might get a few degrees hotter but never going to be anything more noticeable than that.

Replacement aside, I'll also check the PC USB port's power just to be 100% sure.
