How much will my low impedance cans (SR60i, M50) benefit from a dedicated amp?
 
I already bought the E7 to use as a DAC and that made a world of difference. Browsing around I have seem some offhand comments that hint that even low impedance cans benefit to a degree from a more powerful amp. I have also seen some say that it is negligible.
 
Been looking at the E9 to compliment the E7. I will most likely eventually get some higher impedance cans. But should I hold off on an amp until I get said cans or will I see an improvement with my current setup?

IMO Grados benefit a lot from amping. I can't comment on others but my 325's would not be the same headphones without an amp.

Bump. Saw someone with a similar setup as me in the setup thread. He was rocking the E7/E9 combo. Might just bite the bullet and just get it.
