Hey Guys just joined the community, I glad I found a forum that know what a good quality headphone is since im not interested in brands like Bose or other commercial brands that are WAYYY overpriced and do more marketing than research...
 
So... You can say im a newbie looking into buying a good headset with the following characteristics:
 
- Over Ear
- Excellent Sound and very detailed
- Good Outside noise insulation
- Preferably that it does not need an amp to connect to a portable player, but If I need to do this to have a step above in terms in sound then its OK, just recommend a portable amp please. 
 
Sound quality and feeling like being in the recording is paramount along with good imaging. 
 
Budget? no more than $500 USD
 
I live in the Chicago so something that I can find locally would be a plus!
 
I know you probably get asked questions like this all the time... but I believe its nice to have this kinds of threads if someone asks the right questions...
