I appreciate the heads up, but I have about $1200 chilling in my Amazon account right now with nothing really planned for it.  
 
It's probably going to get translated into headphones and new HDTV.

but with money like that just chillin, there are much better cans out there in the $200-$300 range (like the denon ah-d2000, beyerdynamic dt 990 pro 250, etc.)

New cans just aren't worth $200+ to me.  I listen to them a bit at home and while travelling, but that's about it.  I want good cans, but I'm honest about my usage.  
 
I probably average 2 hours a week of listening.  Just not enough to rationalize $200+ in my opinion.  Snowboarding is probably when I do the majority of my listening, but these won't hit the slopes with me.  I'll hang onto my Philips O'Neill The Stretch for that.
