Looking for headphones for ROCK MUSIC
Jan 20, 2013 at 3:11 PM Post #16 of 20
Might want to take a look at the Mad Dog modded T50-RP's by MrSpeakers. Circumaural, comfy as hell, detachable cable, and the smooth sound makes it easy to listen to for long periods of time and at loud volumes. 90% of the music I listen to is metal, and it sounds perfect, IMO, Holographic and weighty, but smooth, but it's more a result of the MD's being really good all-rounders.

I know that you want over-ear headphones, but the only headphones I can think of that are especially great with rock are Grados. Not sure what's the issue with on-ear anyway. I've had a pair and I had no issue with the on-ear nature of them.

Go with Grado. despite all the inconveniences, and miss-matches with your requirements, if its rock, you wont be dissapointed.

thanks everyone I went with the the Fostex because I really love my HE-500s and the Fostex are orthodynamic as well and they where only $90 off of amazon.  I will let you guys know how they sound compared to my HE-500s.

Again thanks so much.

Hmm, well $90 is what they usually cost, which is why the "other" t50-rps cost more; they've been professionally modded by another company/person ala the paradox or mad dogs. Unless you do a fair amount of modding, I'm not sure those will reach anywhere near the HE-500 quality.

If you're willing to go through the modding process, however, you're in for some great returns!
