I'm looking for recommendations to purchase my first pair of full-size headphones with the following characteristics.

-Closed
-Circumaural
-$150-250
-Balanced sound for all types of music
-ANC acceptable but not necessary
-High SNR
-No amp preferred

Thanks for any advice.

You can have a look this AKG Q701 Premium Reference Headphones ,it is a good choice for u.

Good luck for u.

Does not meet the following criteria:

-Closed

-Balanced sound for all types of music

-No amp preferred

Seriously guys, don't recommend random cans when you don't know much about them(other than they're high-end and cost hundreds).

Question for OP: What kind of music do you listen to?

I primarily listen to rap, hard and soft rock, instrumental and classical.

Currently I own UE SuperFi 5vi IEMs but don’t like the constant noise if I move. Do around the ear headphones usually provide a greater lever of isolation than IEMs?  Also, I have a big head so if any choices fit tight or loose please let me know.

Headphones I’ve been looking at are the beyerdynamic DT660, Audio Techncia ATH-A9000, and Sennhieser HD 558. I’m also considering the Sennheiser PXC for Bluetooth feature even through it’s a little out of my price range. When I was searching earlier I found folding headphones in the $150-$250 range but can’t seem to find their name now.

I live in New York City. Is there anywhere to test headphones before purchase?

Thanks for the advice.
