Loki Mini Impressions

Magni likely doesn't have enough power to notice tbh
Neither my Asgard 3 nor Lyr 3 have any noticable noise with Loki or Lokius either.

I agree with the other posts saying that the Loki+ has no noticeable noise. I really have come to love the Loki+. I originally bought it to ‘enhance’ my Graddo Gold cartridge on my Thoren’s TD145MKII table. It’s placed between the Tube Box S2 and my Lyr III, output to HD 6XX…it’s fabulous. I also use it between my Bifrost Uber(first gen/optical) and Lyr III. The stack is electronic ear candy. Thank you @Jason Stoddard & Mike Moffat for their genius.

It has a lot of noise, just not noticeable on low gain headphone situations, probably more obvious with speakers (I forget how much it was to blame, dont feel like hooking it up right now). This was personally illustrated when I hooked up an old un-restored 70s EQ once, was unbearably bad, but on a low gain headphone setup it was surprisingly not noticeable. Lokies aren't as bad by any stretch, but still annoying since outside their inherent hiss when active they also are EMI magnets if near anything drawing power (like a Schiit tube amp) (that the manual even warns about)

ASR did a rundown on the Lokius

Turning the #3 to #5 controls to max though, induced hiss in the middle position of the volume. Testing with music with Sennheiser HD650 showed that was about 10 to 20% higher than the max volume I wanted to listen to so I don't think it is a problem. Noise was much more audible with pair of Dan Clark Stealth and Ether CX headphones

Controls 4 through 5 caused hiss in content and any distortion to get magnified. You would not want them more than 10 to 20% boosted.

what would you like to see?

The keywords on my post are [Lokis] out there. Not the manufacturer’s photos. The user’s units being used and pots set. :)

Like this (small adjustments here):

P. S. - saw your posts re device noise. None on mine. Either your unit is defective or conveys noise from some other source.

My pot adjustments are, whilst not all over the map, are pretty varied. It really depends on the headphone I'm using, and what I'm listening to. Right now, at my desk (Loki+, Bifrost OG 4490, Asgard 3 with DCA Aeon RT Closed), I'm running (from L to R), 2:00, 10:00, 10:00, 12:00). Listening to Lissie and Eva Cassidy.

WRT noise - I have none to report. Tested with bypass switch, and even removed the units (tested Loki Mini OG, Mini + and Lokius) physically from the signal chain. Same with and without, no noise. Darn things just make my music sound like I want it to.

You only said "pics of the 4 pots," so I asked to clarify

If people can't hear noise, then they either have their volume/gain too low or are deaf.

Does anyone elses Loki mini+ produce a lot of heat? My Modi+ is stone cold, Magni+ and Heretic are barely warm. Loki, hot.

Hot is relative, but nicely warm (not scalding) is normal.
OK, I can put my hand on it and not have to remove it. I find it odd that the warmest piece is the EQ not the amp.
