Hello all,
This is my first post on Head-Fi.
I don't have a headphone amp or phones yet but am seriously looking at the Little Dot MkIII and the Beyerdynamics DT 880 phones. The input to the amp will be from my Cambridge Audio DacMagic. David from Little Dot emailed me that the amp works and sounds best driving high impedance phones. Do you all find this true? If so, I will get the DT 880's in the 600 ohm version. I've been reading posts saying the amp works ok with 30-60 ohm phones also, so I'm a little confused. I have no dealers of this type of high end phones-amps anywhere remotley near me, so I'm trusting you guys for honest advice. I don't want the hassle of returning this stuff !!!
Thanks for any advice.

You can have problems with noise on high sensitivity low impedance phones.

Sometimes the amps (not just LD) exhibit noise and sometimes they do not, just the luck of the draw.

I have a problem with the bass on my lower impedence cans. Y'all know what the issue is? I am very mad that this purchase has been a bust. It sounds great with my sextette, but not with the Q701
