How does Larry justify designing a 6k IEM when everything we backed is overpriced and not marketable but somehow 6k IEM’s are?

)Yet LHL can’t afford the boards to make anything we backed but designing a 6k IEM is doable.

Just shows everything we’re told here is a big fat lie

Or IEM is highly profitable while Crowdfrauding losing money (Who‘s Money?) so put in much lower priority and the fate of our backed machine tied with how success the IEM, so shut the bad mouth and wait is what Larry want us to do.

The Question is we funded LHL and we care less about LH but now vice versa? What?

I wonder what company they stole the design from for the 6k IEM’s.

There is no way they designed them themselves since we all now Larry can’t design something in under 5 years if even at all.

Be interesting to see who volunteers to review it. I wouldn’t touch it personally - goes against my ethics.

Wait, the Oscar is $6000? This is a joke, right?

I tried both the Stella and Oscar at an audio show late last year (BSK2018). I was/am actually looking to get a hybrid, and I thought Stella was a mediocre take on one. I wouldn’t pay $1300 for it, but hey, a lot of brands are charging 1k+ for their hybrids. Sucks, but I guess that’s the world we live in.

As for the Oscar, I don’t have any lasting impressions of it. I walked away from the distributor’s booth impressed by the Acoustune HS1650cu and the Jomo Flamenco/Samba, but nothing on the Oscar. (I’m not sure if it requires saying, but for a $6000 iem to be entirely unmemorable is not a good thing.)

What a blatant, shameless cash grab. It screams “let’s just get one sucker to try it”.

Don't worry Brooko, there are plenty of people out there who live life with little or no regard to ethical behaviour.

Case in point, how does Larry or anyone who is, or has been, in league with him sleep at night?

Probably quite well as it's ethics, not lack of them, that keep people awake at night.

And I suppose you can make a point that my source gear wasn’t up to par (fine, an iPhone and a nano iDSD might not be up to everyone’s standards), that an audio show environment isn’t the best to judge gear (sure), or maybe that I should’ve tried some specific combination of eartips/whatever (I actually brought a decent selection of tips to use), but none of that stopped me from liking a lot of other IEMs over those two days - both at that specific booth and elsewhere - and none of them came close to that price tag.

If an IEM costs 2-3x as much as a U18t or Flamenco, I’m expecting nothing less than perfection. Anyone considering the Oscar would be better served getting one of those other TOTL iems at comparatively bargain basement prices... and spending the rest on used car or something :joy:

I can get a pair of Elac Adante AF-61s for 6k, and I've had them pre-approved by the girlfriend, so I know where I'd rather put my money.:grinning:

So good to hear some positive news at last!

DHL only shows shipping info received so that doesn’t mean it’s actually shipped yet, knowing this company it could still be months before they actually ship it.

I can’t be to optimistic since I’ve been burned before by them but this is a poisitive note

Though it was sent by Express Worldwide, delivery time should be 1-2 days so if it’s really true I should get it this week

Fingers crossed

I have not heard it myself, but people who have and whose judgement I trust thinks that it's bland and mediocre. A good friend of mine said that he would take the u18t over it any day of the week.

Not surprising, coming from a company with no significant BA development background.
