LG V30

What would be reliable source for battery in US, there is a bunch of them on amazon, OEM and subs, but reviews are all over.
I would say its pot luck. The problem is they are no longer made so as time goes on with the batteries sitting on a shelf somewhere some batteries are OK others not, even from the same source.

Some sellers say they test every battery before shipping but in reality that would be very difficult to do, I would guess many don't.

If you want to keep the V30 for many years I would buy two or more and make sure they are all regularly tested and kept at 50% (storage charge) and stored in a cool dry place.

I changed the battery in mine with care and following one of the guides online, no problems.

There is one problem I encountered though, where to find a decent replacement battery. Genuine BL-T34 batteries most likely will be new old stock so may not be very good.

I replaced mine too. Grandado had a legitimate LG BL-T34 battery. I had to wait for a few weeks for it to be shipped, but it is good as new. Accu Battery is good for diagnostically testing the health of your battery. My one is at 95% after 25 charge cycles. Just take care when heating the back of the phone (when following YouTube advice). You need a decent heat gun or plate as well as a decent sized keyring suction pad - small ones aren't good. Or use a battery replacement service 👍
What back cover adhesives did you guys used?

Does android 9 update supports aptx adaptive? Or is it hardware limited?
If you use adb to remove bloatware, the battery discharges even slower. These google and LG Apps draw unnecessary battery power and often run in the background. More music time :L3000:

It’s not an OS thing, it’s the hardware. The V30 doesn’t support Adaptive which is only found on more recent Qualcomm chips.

Earlier this year I gave up the desk job and transitioned to the great outdoors; a gardener, that is, complete with wide-brimmed straw hat. On big mows I prefer to listen to music (who wouldn't?) and had been using my Huawei P30 Pro with dongles - firstly the Lotoo Paw S1 and, later, the Apple USB C dongle - but would always end up snagging the extra cord on something, or disconnecting it when trying to excavate leaves, grass, and the occasional tree from my pockets. Recently I remembered I had my old LG V30 lying dormant in a drawer, quietly biding its time, knowing that my return to it was inevitable. And so it was. I had forgotten how good this thing sounds, and why I never bothered buying a DAP. How much battery life do modern daps get these days? With the V30 on battery saver I can get up to, and sometimes over, 100 hours. and I'm fairly certain most DAPs come with an 8-10 hour expectancy. My rediscovering the sound quality the V30 produces had me put it up to comparison against my desktop gear, a pro audio monitor controller in the form of the Dangerous Music Source. Sure, it's not summit-fi, but it still goes for £/$1000 a pop despite approaching it's 10th year in production, and the differences are not big. Minimal, even. They can be found if I really concentrate, but then I listen to music for its enjoyment and not to hold it up under the microscope. I'm mightily impressed by just how good this device still is from an audio perspective, and wager it's probably a better all rounder (sound quality, usability, battery life) than a lot of the contemporary entry to mid tier DAPs.
