That's because the new black dahlia murder is amazing ...not as good as ritual but extremely good nonetheless. My copy of the cd and Lp should be here today!

Maybe I should go back and listen to Ritual. I think that it was super hard for them to even make a follow-up to Ritual but they did it. I like it better than Ritual now? It seems maybe a little less proggy and a little more ruff? More like they were in 2005 I thought. The drums were fantastic but at times I would have liked to hear em more in the mix. Still though a fantastic album, one of the years best!

New Dream Theater, September 24th! It'll be interesting to see what direction they take, now that new Mike has had an opportunity to help with the writing.

Listening to the new Dark Tranquility. I think I like it pretty well, but I miss some of the harder edges....smoother sounding....still pretty good ATC.

I only like Octavarium (one of the coolest songs ever) and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence.
The Score version of both of these songs...pure goodness.
All the other albums just had a few good moments here and there.

Train of Thought from 2003 is my favorite of theirs...it's heavier and feels a bit more stripped down and focused to me. It's really good IMO.

Scenes from a Memory I thought was perfection. I really liked the last two albums as well, but not many people seem to think that way.

Well-written, emotional symphonic/melodic black metal. Just the right amount of keyboards and good bite in the production, IMO. Reminds me of a more romantic-sounding, less-brutal Ceremonial Castings. Very promising debut.

Got my copy of the L'Enfant Suvage Lp by Gojira in today from Germany. And you guys weren't kidding, the drums are downright thunderous on this master, I'm loving it right now!

Yup, it's good stuff. Mario is one of the best drummers in metal right now and it's awesome to be able to hear what he can actually do. We've got a lot more vinyl coming up, hopefully another Classic Wax this week. Stay tuned!
