Where in Germany do you live, TYG? I lived in Germany from '02-'04 just outside of Kaiserslautern. I really liked it there and hope to be able to do it again.

Lübeck near the Baltic Sea. Most beautiful city in Germany (I'm biased). Living here is like being part of a gigantic museum (maybe that is why the UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site).

That's the stuff that headbangs are made of. Thanks bro. Honestly it reminds me of Scythian, especially the vocals. Like a mix of black and thrash vocals. Impressive.

What about THIS!

Authentic old school death from the Midwest. One album from 1994 and one from 1997. Underground stars!

So just ripped my Slayer Repentless CD to FLAC and playing over my DAC/AMP to HE-400's and I hear a lot of clipping or static on a lot of the tracks.  Played a few other FLACS I have made and did not have the same issue.  Took the CD and put it into a standard CD player to my HE-400's again odd clipping static noise on a lot of the tracks.  Is the CD bad or was is just poorly mastered....BTW the album is really good just bummed with the audio issues on the CD I believe.

I did rip it again and had the same issue with WAV playback through foobar.  Again playback of other FLACS in my library do not have this issue.

Worldnt surprise me if Kerry was being cheap with the mastering based on Lombardos comments about money, do you have a friend with the same same CD you can rip and compare?

Best album of theirs since Divine Intervention IMO

Try ripping with dBpoweramp and Exact Audio Copy. They have better error correction than many other CD rippers, and you can compare your rip to others via the AccurateRip database. It's possible that the disc is just damaged, causing the noise you're hearing. Or, of course, it could be the recording/master itself.

Just tried that and same results I think the mastering is just ****.  You cant tell on speakers really, but if your listening on open headphones it clicks and pops :frowning2: kinda a bummer.  I tried EQing it out but failed.

Did the AccurateRip results indicate that your rip was identical to others?

Another thing you could do is use software to remove the clicks and pops. It's what vinyl junkies do.

I used Exact Audio Copy and the rips match with no errors.  Do you know what that software is called?  I still find it funny that this release sounds so bad.

Some top shelf stuff right there. They need to do re-release on cd and digital.

Here's another scorcher from days of yore.
