I've seen Dio three times: Twice with Black Sabbath (Heaven And Hell), then post-Sabbath for "The Last In Line". The last concert with Vivian Campbell was the best, in terms of lighting, concept staging, performance, pyros. They did Heaven and Hell (Children Of The Sea, Heaven And Hell, Neon Knights) with huge murals of Egyptian night scenes in ultra-dark lighting--just a killer unforgettable atmosphere. VC was friggen awesome--from what I saw of Iommi's onstage presence, at that time he was no where close.

I know it's not metal to brag about your kids, but my 3 year-old son keeps asking me to put on Children of Bodom (Are You Dead Yet is the album in question).  Yesterday he wanted me to play it twice in a row, and when I told him no after the first listen, he asked for Blind Guardian.

Nah. Listening to a bit of Vorum on youtube. The stuff sounds quite good. Reminds me of another band though

Speaking of which, the NWN show is something I would kill for. Soo good

My my, you are a troubled soul.  I haven't come across someone so presumptuous for an age (for my part, I attended a Christian Brothers high school).  Your ridiculous comments lead me to believe that religion and social intolerance go hand in hand.

My advice to you, should you care to listen: seek professional help

lol, that's classic "pot calls kettle black"

after all, the protestants who invaded North America were the original douches :p

Protestants "invading" NA? Please explain. So when the "Indians" came to NA from the middle East did they invade? When an Indian tribe raped, murdered and kidnapped another Indian tribe this was not "invading" this is OK? It's only when (according to your socialist schooling) a white European man enters a country or joins in on the mayhem that it's now wrong? Wow...rather simplistic thinking no? Or are you saying that Protestant believing people are the root cause of all evil in the world? Have you ever done anything evil? What is evil? How can you justify it?

i dont think ive brought up The Black Dahlia Murder in quite a while, but i think that Black Valor, the first track off their newest record, deflorate, has got to have some of the most bada$$ metal lyrics ever

This is how you feel there Soup? I mean REALLY? You "identify" with these lyrics? I certainly would not advocate a song or an idea that considered killing satanists or pentagram worshippers or w/e. Sounds like someone has a little bone to pick...? "most badass lyrics" ??? What a sad, sad SAD commentary.

we've been over your religious bent in this thread before Fido. and no, i never said i identified with the lyrics in any way. and no i dont have a bone to pick with anyone. i merely think that they are cool, and thought i would share. I never claimed anyone had to agree with me.

the band aint a much of satanists, their just a bunch of normal dudes, who probably thought the lyrics were cool like i do. dont take them too seriously, its just funny, its like a battle cry for the devils army :D

So you don't identify with the lyrics yet they're "cool" to you? So you often just like things and make posts about things arbitrarily? So I must assume then that you posted those lyrics to be offensive and most likely towards me since I seem to be the only Chrisitian on here. You claim you know all about my "religious" bents. Yet I posted nothing about religion but YOU did. YOU sir are the religionist. You are a religionist in the negative sense. You seem to be fascinated with it while all the while bashing what you don't really even understand.  I just hope when you and satans army come for us Christians that it is YOU personally who show up at my door... Or better yet I hope you see the light and come to understand the Truth.

So anyway this is the "Let's talk Metal" thread. Lyrics from metal bands would be considered talking metal and SupeRKnow-Not posted those lyrics so lets discuss. I have seen a few post about not liking Chrisitan metal. What constitiutes 'Chrisitan" metal? Would it not be only the lyrics since the music seems to me quite similar? Why would you oppose music simply because it's supposedly "Chrisitan" why the bias? Why the Chrisitan hating in general? Think about it...what has a "Christian" ever done to you personally that would make you this way? I would wager none of you even knows why you feel that way. But, on the other hand has not a non-Chrisitan also done something wrong to you too? Let it go...
For the record, I really love metal and rock music and always have. I am also a Chrisitan. Does anyone here even know what being a "Chrisitan" means? How do you know?
We are all imperfect. We are all hypocritical at times and we all have a lot to learn. Is it against YOUR rules for a Chrisitan to like metal music? Thats not a very free thinking attitude. My point is there are many more important and productive things to be going on about than bashing the people of God.

How about this...is it possible to have a religion-free world? I mean really....if not, why? From what I've seen in countries where religion is banned or state controlled then the religion is one of  Godless man's power and control. Man is worshipped. Survival of the fittest. The current administration deals out justice however they wish. Everything is controlled by the state(god). These countries are the least free and most brutal ones, ie China and the former USSR. Europe is being invaded now is it not? It most certainly is not Chrisitans invading is it? Have fun.

I like the picture of Jesus BTW. When He returns it will be much more in that type of fashion than the crucified savior He was when He left.

anything alternative y'all can recommend?
i listen to system of a down, and godsmack as examples, i don't like really like heavy screaming (that that up the whole song) i like the vocals to smooth out the heavily layered music
