I was familiar with the band back when they were first starting out, before their debut album. Their songs were hilarious! Haven't heard their newer albums yet.
I couldn't really get in to Allegaeon. There is one song on that album I love though: "1.618", it really reminded me of my old "In Flames" days as a teenager. The video clip for it is quite amusing too.
The first song of their's that I heard was 1.618, so I was thinking that if the rest of the album was like that then I probably would have found my favourite album if 2014. No love though. The rest of their content I just find a little too repetitive.

Yeah I think they peaked with fragments, but form shifter was still technically excellent just not as entertaining to me. I will say though that elements of the infinite is much better even if not quite as good as fragments was.
Yep! As a drummer (although I haven't played in a year or so) it really resonated with me, it was almost as if the drummer (can't remember his name) shared the same influences and style as me. I was able to play the rhythmic patterns in my mind before/as he played it. This happens here and there with some songs for me, but never over the vast majority of an album. Although I generally like to be surprised with musical styles and choices, this had me immediately engaged with the drumming. Unfortunately, the rest of the composition sounded (musically) stale. I guess prog has spoiled a lot of metal for me. In terms of technicality, their ability is flawless, I just don't think they've utilized it to their full potential when it comes to song writing.
I'm celebrating the current Spotify/Apple streaming wars by-gasp-buying some new music. What a 90's concept. I just ordered from Amazon
Woah! How can two heralded doom albums be so different! I need some time to digest. The Ufomammut is pretty darn killer right now for me. Bell Witch is some heady, deep schiiit. Dang. Both of these albums are so amazing.
Thanks for that. Good to see them releasing a few songs before hand. I'm trying not to listen to them too much though, I worry I will tire of them before the release and I like to lisren to an album in its entirety. Plus, the previous two songs weren't the best mixes and/or quality.
Been a long time fan of BTBAM, and this new album is promising! Excellent song writing and their musical style has been moving in the direction of my preferences with every album. I'm profusely anticipating it's release. Seems like the album is a better recording too. Although not perfect, "Famine Wolf" is better sounding than their past few albums.
It's just a shame we don't have their tour lineup here in Aus!
Man finally got around to listening to both the released tracks off the forthcoming Lamb of God record, and I have to say I'm cautiously optimistic. Their last CD was a pretty lackluster effort, but this shows some promise
